I'm thinking of selling my fixed wing and buying a new or newish two-seat enclosed light-sport gyroplane. I know about the Calidus and the American Ranger. What other good options are available in the US?
Neither of the Magnis are enclosed that I know of. I'll look at that other two. Thanks.Magni M24 & M26

Thank you, I didn't know that. Does it qualify as a Light Sport? I'm a Sport Pilot ASEL so that is a critical requirement. The M24 is enclosed.
Peter is correct - attend Bensen Days and fly everything that you can. That's what I didTake a closer look at the Kallithea from Niki Rotor Aviation.

Yes it is light sport.Thank you, I didn't know that. Does it qualify as a Light Sport? I'm a Sport Pilot ASEL so that is a critical requirement.
I live in Arlington, VA near the Pentagon. California would be very inconvenient for me...Peter is correct - attend Bensen Days and fly everything that you can. That's what I did
prior to building my AutoGyro MTO. I discovered that what I thought I wanted turned out
not to be the best for me. I have flown with Peter in the Kallithea - very nice machine.
JJ: I live in Virginia and took Barry up on his offer to attend the Carolina Barnstormers Spring Fling last year. Their airport is probably a 7-hour drive from Arlington. It's worth the time and attendance, especially if you don't attend Benson Days in FL (coming pretty quickly).Thank you, I didn't know that. Does it qualify as a Light Sport? I'm a Sport Pilot ASEL so that is a critical requirement.

These two events, back to back, are definitely worth a week's trip to Florida. The best way to assess your options is to visit Bensen Days and Sun'n Fun in April.
Come and talk to all major manufacturers, spend few bucks on demo flights, and save a lot of money by not getting the "wrong" gyro...
What would be your suggestions? Most of these choices have their own mechanical issues/weaknesses. You're not likely to easily learn about such from those who either sell or instruct in them. Caveat emptor. Don't take a vested party's word for much; ask around. Pretty paint and slick brochures are only that.
