HI Brooke

What type of muffler is that and are you satisfied with it??

Tony

Hi Tony, it's a Yoshamira muffler that was hooked up to a 4 cyl. sport bike. Weighs about half as much as a factory sport bike muffler, not loud, sounds good, and doesn't restrict other than normal back pressure. It definitely works well w/ the 120 3cyl. I'm very happy with it. Thanks for asking.

Brooke I am so happy to see you in the air! Awesome shots. You should check your blades though. You put a nice strong engine on and obviously the blades can't handle it. They are bending badly..... :) I envy you, Beautiful machine you had built. Enjoy it for a long long time. Fly safe my friend :)

Brooke , do you know if this is a "glass pack" type muffler ?? Also what is the length and dia of the muffler ??

Tony

Wow Brooke, I had no idea you were going to test my motor mounts to that extreme!
Cool Photo's

LOL, You make me laugh Todd, and underestimate your design. However, the motor mount was modified at the mast to accept the bolt you could not install, bolts were added between the cradle racks (all four), and torque bars were added at the rear (2)(see pics....missing pic for additional mast bolt). Between Ron and I, this is a proven package. I do maintain my respect for this machine, but I'm not content to fly it like a Bensen.

Tony, the muffler is NOT a "glass pack", rather 22" x 5" stainless shell with a steel baffle. Not sure if the baffle is stainless or not, but very well could be. I got it used w/ a 4 into 1 header at a motorcycle junkyard.

Hi Brooke

Thanks for the feed back on the muffler, I wanted a muffler with baffles, this looks like something I will use on my tractor with the Weber. Do you recall any weight ??

Tony

Hi Tony, This muffler is lighter than the one used on the 503, or 582, and probably lighter than a glasspack. I'm sure you would be very happy with it. Everybody says it's very quite, although on a tractor it might dump in front of you rather than behind. I don't know what engine you're using, but I would use it even on a 912, or a Harley if I wanted my Harley quiet.....lol. It is very efficient. I'll send you a PM on exact details and part number after I go to the hangar again.
Thanks.

Hi Brooke

Thanks for the feed back, it does sound like a good style muffler. Looked them up on the net and see they costs anywhere from $600 to over $700 , what kind of a deal did you get at the salveage yard, I have a yard about 50 miles from me that I might get something like that.

Tony

Dang Brooke, that thing has so much balls it bent your rotorblades all funny like......

If it is a Yosh exhaust it more than likely is a glass pack. You should be able to see straight through it, and it should have a inner pipe with lots of little holes in it, with fiberglass packing between the inner pipe and the outter shell. Not a glasspack like a old classic cherrybomb, but still a glasspack.

Man Brooke, you are twisting that machine around! I would love to see a video of you flying her.

I think we're all crazy now....lol. Ron may very well be right about it being a "glasspack", as I just had a different image of that in my head. At any rate, I picked it up for $125, used, knowing that they can go for as much as $1000 brand new.....unbelievable.

I do have some cool videos "twisting it up" that perhaps I can load up at the airport. It literally flew circles around my hangar mate's gyro while his wife got it on camcorder.....over, under, 360's, and passing him on a WOT climbs. It's definitely a playful little thing with plenty of power. Ron is still King of Showmanship, I just play around.

You guys are funny, but I appreciate it.....lol :yo:

Brooke you be care full, don't go too far too fast, okay? Joe.
