    AUTOGYRO Ela jump takeoff

Wasn’t the White House, Doug landed on the capitol building lawn. If he had landed on the White House lawn he would have never survived. Since there are minimum torrents embedded in the lawn and anti aircraft missiles on the roof. Doug said the lack of such security is why he chose the capital...

    Hello Rotary People

I too suffer from severe motion sickness so bad that when I’m riding in a car with someone else, I have to be in the front seat and I have to have the window open. I’m driving I’m fine. I can’t go on any boats that are small I have never experienced motion, sickness, flying a Gyro in my life I...

    Bensen Days 2024

Me too Scott. I tell you health after 50 sucks. I’m sure it’s no coincidence that I have been sick more in the few years after having the human engineered virus than throughout the entirety of the rest of my life. That and being a fat guy over 50 and being a clutz. I’m the only person I know...

    Lift Hexa

Dr. Bensen tried this as well. I’m not sure of the particulars. I do know it was powered by a bunch of Mac chainsaw engines.

    TRADE FOR BENSEN METAL BLADES

I think they turn opposite directions so you would need quite a few different parts.

    TRADE FOR BENSEN METAL BLADES

Bensen/Brock blades are as Doug described. They are good to learn on. Another set of blades that are hand startable and pretty durable are Rotor Hawks before they went to extruded blades. The prerotator should be be easy to install and should have come with a drum that goes between the prop...

    TRADE FOR BENSEN METAL BLADES

May I ask why the instance on only Bensen/Brock blades. They are the same inefficient design. Your machine would perform so much better with some Razor Blades or a used set of Dragon Wings.

    Bensen info request

I’m pretty sure that because it’s a different category it requires more than just a check ride. Make sure you get plenty of training. A gyro is so different than a PPC. One of our members had a difficult time transitioning and wrecked his first single place gyro. Turns out the procedure of going...

    Bensen info request

Actually that would be FAR Part 103. Which is from the early 80s and it states no matter what it is a broomstick flying machine anything leaves the ground if it’s under 254 pounds goes less than 54 miles an hour I think and 5 gallons of fuel it’s an ultralight and does not need a license 72...

    Bensen info request

If it is a stock Bensen maybe. The thing is you need to remove the boat gas tank replace it with a seat tank. No exhaust and no prerotator. You would be flying a relic.

AR-2 Side by Side Gyroplane coming starting mid 2023

Won’t happen. Abid is a Rotax dealer. He will work with them or a derivative of them exclusively. I don’t blame him it’s a consistent quality engine.

    Bensen Days 2024

I unfortunately woke up feeling like total crap today. I won’t be able to make there and will try again tomorrow. It absolutely sucks because I feel I disappointed some people if I am unable to make it. Wish I felt better. Back to sleep.

Russian three-seat V-tail gyroplane flights. Then, suddenly, it went down!

Very very lucky to be alive. It appears to me to have been a redrive failure. I’m surprised he had enough control to keep them from going splat. The entire time flying his nose was always up giving the impression that it was out of CG and not hung right.

Drag reduction of a gyrocopter rotor

I’m not quite sure. I will ask my father tomorrow when I meet him at Bensen Days. If I had to guess and based on my memory and knowledge of his previous experiments I would say between 22 ft and 24 ft.

Drag reduction of a gyrocopter rotor

Chuck Beaty experimented with the tapered blades. I think he was using a Boeing VR-7. They were constructed from fiberglass and wood. The spar was wound fiberglass. Dick DeGraw approached it an other way. He reduced drag sign significantly by partially powering his rotors. His flies much...

    Bensen Days 2024

Well, unfortunately I fell in the trap of trying to argue my point about who I liked and what I liked and what I didn’t like and what I hated. I come to realize now all I did was make me look like a real jackass. Social media should be treated as society used to be at least here in the South. my...

    Bensen Days 2024

I know at one time he had three of them at all times. One on the machine and newly rebuilt one in the back of his truck and one at the shop being rebuilt. That machine is a testament to the strength and durability of 6061 T6 aluminum. I doubt there’s a stainless steel air frame out there with as...

    Bensen Days 2024

I find it to be much more peaceful. Facebook gives one a fault sense of importance I discovered after getting off of it. I’m not quite so important as I thought I was. Nobody really gives a crap what we think they just care about what they think. Just another way for those that want to control...

    Bensen Days 2024

Unfortunately I no longer choose to be part of Zuckerberg’s heard. I got banned from Facebook a few years ago and I let it go. I didn’t even appeal it I want nothing to do with it. So I would love to see some pictures here on a dedicated forum to gyros where everyone can see him not just...
