    Prerotator vs partially powered rotor

Or lift ? Is it just two powered vectors which sum equals weight of autogyro. Plus for unpowered one - we need forward motion to provide air flow around rotor. Or zero for 100% powered rotor.

    Prerotator vs partially powered rotor

And this one, changing gross weight from 221.5, 321.5. Last one have similar rpm to 475 as provided in last example.. I think, that rpm should left similar to our unpowered version - ie same blade traveling at same speed will make same level of lift.

    Prerotator vs partially powered rotor

Newbie question - why does our rpm varies so much ? If pitch is the same ? As far as i know - in flight rotor rpm does not change too much. Tried with gyrocalc. pitch is varied 2; 4; 6 degree :

    Prerotator vs partially powered rotor

Ok. But AoA of rotor should also decrease. We need less power from air stream to power it ? And flat rotor = vertical vector 100% / horizontal vector 0%.

    Prerotator vs partially powered rotor

Thank you for reply. Could any comment this topic ? https://www.rotaryforum.com/threads/partially-powered-rotors-from-pra-magazine.46845/page-3#post-927054 Sadly, i do not know hp of main motor. But 125mph cruise is cool. Only in some other posts 30hp in some light airframe ?

    Prerotator vs partially powered rotor

Thank you for reply. Lets say - it is more on efficiency without too big complexity, than jumping or vertical start. So lets modify first post - move main motor to side for partial powered rotor torque compensation

    Prerotator vs partially powered rotor

Hello. Yes, i do agree - but as i was able to see - some with goped prerotator do left it working for take off. And if we have some airflow over our tail - not speed, we keep rudder effective. But yes - at zero speed with working prerotator and main engine failure you may crash. Safety device to...

    Prerotator vs partially powered rotor

Hello. Ben here, looking for some Far103 gyros. Yes you can make them or buy - but it will be 503 or 447 powered ones without any extra. No electric starter or prerotator. Unless hack with big cordless drill. And mostly limited to light pilots. But ! After reading a lot of Gyrhino and...
