    More fun flying The Predator.

@ franks Yes a 12 hour drive must be planned . I would encourage you to take the time someday. Puts faces to names ,and the exposure to all things gyro including all the seminars is invaluble. Best done with a camper because there is complete facilities on site.Every kind of gyro you can imagine...

    SUB4 upgrade ;)

@airscooter ; it's just wasting away in my garage full of junk. It has no ignition or fuel system. My hope was to put something like the FAST system on to manage both systems electronically because that has proven much more reliable.Between work ,a farm, and a couple of service clubs including...

    Way off topic

Ive never done any water bore work. So im confused isnt it typically constant based on compressor and bore size ? and typically in the 2 gpm range ? as in measure with a big bucket range ?

    Way off topic

That was it . Mannings equation. One of the basic truths; flow is most efficient in a channel which will fit in a semi circle. i suspect you are going to have a constant coefficient, and probably a reasonably constant cross section . two or three points for depth would give you a basic idea...

    Way off topic

Sorry birdy , are you looking for flow rates in a ditch ? Ive got the equation around here . But uses a coefficient for different materials , such as sod or concrete ?

    Here we go again !!

Better ? I loved mechanical design . I believe Ive been "lucky" all my bosses after were great. Ive built a lot of roads all over ontario. as surveyor , operator ,foreman , supervisor, truck driver. A recent friend was a machinist trained in switzerland. I had the pleasure of watchimg him spit...

    Here we go again !!

That is why I put "tight" in quotes. Meaning as tight as your abilitys to cut allow. A long time ago I was a machinist, my disgust with the union enviroment caused me to walk away from the trade .I was young enough to believe the whole trade was that way, i didnt know it was just were I worked.

    Here we go again !!

this is curiosity not critism. Master; in post 54 if you reverse every second one and lay them out "tight" to each other, would it not save a lot of cutting ?

    redrive

thanks eddie, thats what I was trying to say to strider, why a redrive is better. It made sense in my head.
  17. G

    redrive

I make referance to the fact that car cranks were never enginneered to be pushed on with hundreds of pounds of thrust . The plain bearings were meant to be pushed on in line with the pistons only. There is no thrust from a tranny or an altenator belt . Your prop will be trying to push the crank...

    redrive

strider you just hit on the other advantage of a redrive . it handles the thrust from the prop so the prop isnt pulling directly on the crank

Something for the smart get er done types here Chuck B, Jake, etc...

I once had a team of dump truck drivers bring their rvs to a job "up north" A few towed them behind their dump trucks not wanting to make the 8 hour drive twice. When they arrived at the job the insides of their rvs where trash. Apparently they needed a softer tow vehicle.

Something for the smart get er done types here Chuck B, Jake, etc...

I was expecting an excact answer from chuck beatty. I believe a two inch offset is minor for that small a towed load and could be made even more negligible by putting the bike so its centre of mass is in line with the centre of the tow vehicle. The fear comes from the way everything is going to...
