    SkyBeacon on AutoGyro brand gyros

I just received my second failed ADS-B performance report from the FAA. The UAvionix support tech has told me that the SkyBeacon can't be made to work on surfaces that block the signal such as tip tanks, near large metal or liquid objects (engines, tanks), and as others have mentioned carbon...

New foam in a Calidus seat

This week I had AeroComfort of San Antonio, Texas, replace the foam in the seats of my 2013 Calidus. Wow, what a huge comfort improvement. They used Comfor Foam (sp) and added lumbar support. My seats had always felt under padded and uncomfortable, but are vastly improved. Note to the...

    Rotor bolt prices

As I am having engine problems with the 912 ULS on my Calidus again, I need to look into moving my gyro with a trailer. After calling AutoGyro USA and consulting the manuals, it is recommended that the rotors be removed for trailering. The rotor bolts are only supposed to be used once. So I...

I'm having a problem with my Rotax 912ULS (engine quit on takeoff at Taylor, T74, and stranded me, thanks to Dayton for saving the day....again) and managed to find a Rotax trained mechanic near San Antonio at 1T8. A&P in Central Texas

Just a follow up note to report that I was able to find an A&P to do my "condition inspection". He is David Johnson at DJS Aviation located at KCPT (Cleburne, Texas). He did a great job with both the inspection and the documentation. He is clearly familiar with AutoGyro brand gyros.

    Rotor grease gun accessories

I have had a lot of difficulty removing the grease gun from the rotor fitting after use. I saw a recommendation on the AutoGyro Owner's forum for a Lock-N-Lube fitting for the grease gun. I got one and it has made the task very simple. I recommend it. Ray

    Dynon Skyview fuel quantity

my new to me 2013 Calidus has. Dynon Skyview screen for the PFD/map/engine functions with synthetic vision. All very cool, and now that the 912 ULS is running well, very fun to fly. The fuel quantity always reads 18+ gal on startup no matter the actual fuel on board. The Dynon tech support guy...
