Make WRENS Great Again! - WRENS GA Fly-in 2021 - Oct 1-2

Thanks John!

We are in gyro paradise here in the Georgia and Carolinas now that we typically have not 1... but 3 regional events!!! (One Wrens, Fall event in GA and two Barnstormers... Spring AND Fall events in NC.) Three events! Woo HOO!... Then add Bensen Days, not too to far away, and..... sorry, I digress... don't want to rub it in too much with the other regions.. ha ha! :)

BUT... I know it can be pretty confusing when observing from the outside.

Please know that more than anything we REALLY appreciate you proactively helping us to get the word out and supporting us every year!!!

You da' MAN!

I will send you that email.

Mark

As we anticipate this Wrens 2021, I thought folks might enjoy a little ride back in history with pix of the predecessor of Wrens... Rotors Over Carolina (ROC) in 2002 (the oldest pix that I have... almost 20 years ago... and even older than this Forum!)

Enjoy...

Hey John….. thanks for putting the word out 👍🏻
FYI….. the Wrens Fly In is not a Barnstormers sponsored event….😁
When is the next barnstomers event? I have plans already to be out of town the weekend of Wrens so I will sadly miss it.

Hey Ron, sorry to hear you have alternate plans on that weekend. :(

Nonetheless, I was glad to see the Lemoine Dominator... and sweet trailer... went to you, and hope some day you'll make it back to Wrens with them.

In the meantime my understanding is that Wadesboro is Oct 22-25. [3 weeks separation between events] (Barnstormer crew, please correct me if I am wrong.)

GYRO-GERALD is in da' HOOOOUSE!

Leave it to Gerald to bump the views up by 100 in a few quick posts!

One or two of those are of Wrens 2012... the year with the WindRider that I didn't make it to.

Anyway, This is by far the best part... Replay it over about 5 times in rapid succession. LOL!:

Well slap me silly!

Long story short, Chris I., mentioned above is the son of one of our long-time Peach State members, and has been living and working in ATL area for some time now...

Little did I know (till yesterday) that back in the day (like his dad) Chris was a yanking-and-banking gyro pilot circa 1994 but long ago decided to hang it up (hopefully temporarily) for other pursuits.

Fast forward to today and Chris is seriously considering making the trek to Wrens. Still has the gyro bug i'm sure!!

Sure hope he makes it so we can all meet him!

Check out this video of Chris putting a Bensen through it's paces and especially the dead-stick landing at the end! Woo Hoo!

Maybe we can get Chris back into another gyro before long?!?

Although we gyro pilots are a pretty rare breed, it never goes to show ya' that the stranger right next to you at the grocery store may also be a gyro-head... and you never know it! :D

Guess what folks!...

Heard today that we will most likely see Liviu M. again on Saturday 10/2 flying-in with his sweet Cicare 7B HELICOPTER! 🚁

Here is a video of the last time we saw him at Wrens 2017:

I'm trying to go to the Wrens fly-in. If I can make it I will do my best to bring T shirts. If you think you would like one please post your shirt size on this forum and I'll do my best to get it for you.
Time is short so the sooner you post the better chance I have of getting shirts in and printed.
They would most likely be 10 bucks ea.
Thanks and hope to see you there!

Well I'll beeee...

We have two more Carolina guys who are trying real hard to make it to Wrens.

Barry T. is hoping to fly-in his F1 Rocket stunt plane and also have Stephen C. trailer-in his Rotax 670 powered stunt Dominator. Both guys are Carolina Barnstormers...

See the full attendee list on the second post, here:

Here's a video of Barry putting that Dominator SERIOUSLY through it's paces:

And here is a similar one from the pilot's seat:
