Denis & Co ... LEADING the way for the next generation of single & UL USA MADE gyros ...& NOW sweet Rotors ...to complete the package! .....picking up the baton where Air-Command / Dominator/Dragon wings ...have left off!

Absolute hearty ...KUDOS & well-done Denis & Co. ....I can't wait to see your latest offerings @ Mentone!

Thank you, Dennis!!

Great news, but a potentially confusing company name with Gyro-Tech of Poland making blades, which is already confusing when Googling because of yet another company (now defunct I believe) called Gyro Tech. It's great to see this happening though, and I wish them wonderful success.

This will be Awesome.
Dennis is very consciences of his work and I'm willing to bet his quality control will be a priority, 2nd to none.

Jake, you are right on with that statement. I've been using some of Denis's parts on my own gyro build and he's an extraordinary craftsman with his parts and more than helpful with my ideas. He lives close by and I always love to visit his facility to see what he's up to. Open and always accomodating so I try not to waste his time. He'll be at Mentone and I'm predicting he'll be swamped with the introduction of the new Razor Blades.

If you cannot make it learn more about his gyro and new razor blades that Dennis is presenting them in two seminars at the PRA international Fly-in convention 7/30-8/3 in Mentone IN.

Stay tuned, he will be videoed, streamed live, an recorded for PRA library. so you can join the show.

Dennis, you also need to send me/PRA a press release with photos. Or I can write one but you will have to correct words/spelling and get it back to me. Then I'll share the news with over 10K email list.

Greetings all,
It has been a LONG time since I have been active on this forum... But all that is about to change big time!
"Been busy" is putting it mildly!
Jeff,
Thank you for the unsolicited plug! Hope all is going well flying the SkyCrane on the other side of the planet!
Chris,
You have always been a great supporter of mine! Thanks!
Brian,
Understood on the name thing, but too deep into it now to change.
Different product offerings, and being half a world apart I would think would minimize confusion between the two companies.
Jake,
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you made it through your procedure ok, and look forward to meeting you some day!
John,
Thank you and working on getting a press release for you VERY soon.
My 3' display blades are complete, and we will be finishing up the hub bar tomorrow. Then, I will get some pictures and have a nice documentation package to send your way!
Denis

Cannot wait to see your new "Razor Blades" and touch them at Mentone. I'll be at your Seminars to learn more too. PRA is here to support your marketing we'll talk at Mentone soon my friend! We will record your presentations so future members can hear them for years.
Also, we now have the equipment and software to send it to you and you can do webinars in the future as people learn of our new monthly webinars. There will be 2 a month to start out with our new FAA Wings program and Dr. Charnov Historical webinars. We will add Manufactures, CFI, DPE, and adventures when they/ you wish to (market) or make new announcements.

What is "new" about these blades?
Are they not a general copy of Sport Copter's Sport Rotors?
How are they allegedly superior to Sport Rotors?
Have any "Razor Blades" actually been test-flown at all, much less for hundreds of hours?
What is their expected service life?
What is Denis's gyro rating and experience?

I should think such answers are relevant regarding the most important component of a gyroplane.

Regards,
Kolibri
He is a master machinist!!! His gyro is a work of art and I'd bet my life on his blades will be too. Those who know Dennis and seen his work will trust him and they want them now not in 2 or 3 years of testing.

Sport copter did not test it blades for 100 of hours either did Ernie.

Actually before the first set of rotors were shipped, the final version was tested for 300 hours. In fact, this bonding technique and type of adhesive used, according to 3M aerospace, as part of their crew were here at our facility to approve our usage. They said "Sport Copter is the first to use and pioneer this technique for Sport Copter's type of use". Even outside engineers and consultants were used for vetting our techniques. Not just the bonding, but also the technique of etching and priming. It has always been a proprietary process for lots of companies including ours. The development was started about 25 years ago. - Trenna

All the concerns mentioned are rightly justified.

I want to be as transparent as possible (with the exception of a few proprietary secrets) regarding this product line.
No, they do not have hundreds of hours testing yet. How could they? I am just bonding the first full size prototypes now.

The first set of Dragon Wings did not have hundreds of hours on them until ....Well....Until they had hundreds of hours on them!

Please bear with me, and I will provide all the info I can as things progress. I've got one heck of a full plate right now!

I have not used the term "superior", or "new". These are going to be based on proven build techniques, using a proven airfoil.
They may not be the most efficient, or cutting edge. But they will be PRECISE for what they are.
What I do to impress on people is the quality and attention to detail within this product that I insist upon for everything we produce!

Again, I want to be as transparent as possible with the entire process! If I give away and expose too many secrets, so be it.
If somebody wants to steal my equipment designs from pictures I post, and invest as much money as I have to compete in such a small market... Well, go for it.

It will take a long time and rigorous testing before you see me claiming that that blades are "Proven". It is a new product line and I will be totally open with potential customers regarding this fact.

I will openly admit that yes, I certainly hope to fill in part of the void that the departure of Dragon Wings has left our sport!

I am proud to say that I have established a partnership with Jim and Trenna at Sport Copter.

They have an absolutely beautiful product that I will be proudly offering as an option to be fitted on one of my kits.
(4 GT-VX1 kits flying with Sport Rotors now!)
Even down the road, after many hours of flight time, I will still be open with customers regarding the general "newness" of the Razor Blades.
If a customer has even the slightest hesitation, and need the piece of mind, then by all means, I will be pushing them toward the Sport Rotors!
I want this to be a win-win for everybody!

In time, I hope my product will gain the reputation and trust as Ernie's and Jim's products have so justifiably earned over the years!

Again, bear with me.... I will do my best to earn your trust in time!

Denis

It is always good to see when a serious project is starting that way - with initial highest care and attention to details. I'm sure most of us wish you good luck Denis.

You continue to amaze me Denis!

How will they be finished?

What lengths will they come in?

Will you be selling them for other gyroplanes beyond yours?

How much do they weigh?

Are they balanced to the 25% chord line?

Do they have a twist?

To be fair, the original Sport Rotors were patterned after Skywheels, according to an earlier version of the Sport Copter website. The word "copy" is an odd term to use in the gyro world, where everyone has borrowed so liberaly from Bensen. If an airfoil has a NACA number, somebody's already drawn a picture of it somewhere.

Denis, bravo! I personally believe blades made this way are superior to extruded blades, and it will be great to have a second supplier in the market, especially for those of us who expect to need 7" chord and under 25 feet.

I talked to Jim Vanik, of Sport Copter, this morning regarding other matters. The subject came up. Jim feels that is just business, but it was a surprise.

PS: They are both great guys, for guys!
When I told Jim about the RAF we are adding a Lyc O320 engine on and asked his advice he told me every problem he had and how to solve it.
Told me to call him anything with any problem. It hard to beat Sport Copter blades and these are almost the same with the same process. That great for our community. And wait until you see Jim's new composite blades that stand up in water landing and outside much better.

Competition is painful but it makes the best products lower in cost. Look at Rotax for an example of no competition except for Yamaha's.

Jim's knows this too and said that is just business. If Jim understands and is fine with it how can it be a problem for anyone else????
With two equal products, most choose the lower price. If they both cost the same then the one with the longest good track record usually sells more.
