  • Hard to say. Grass takes longer than hard top. There is a great deal of difference based on engine power and weight of craft and pilot. Also it depends on weather with hi temp and high humidity taking longer. I cross the road at the end of my runway at 125 feet on average. That is roughly 2000 feet. But I am climbing at my max at the end so it is not a linear thing. The safe way is to go to a runway with lots of extra room. Do your normal take off and see where you are when you hit 60 feet..I am pretty sure you want to leave a buffer.

    If you do not have a great deal of power, and I don't flying a 582 and being sadly nearly 240, so when I clear the ground I fly in ground effect nearly on the ground until I get to about 50 at which point i initiate a climb.
