The boys have anew office and shop location around 20 miles south west of Lansing. The business will have a new phone number and...

  • A few years ago I found a new flex shaft housing that is much lighter and far more flexible. I have been testing the housing on several gyros that fly a lot. The housing is also used on a very popular gyro brand and they have had it as standard for several years. The new housing requires a different...

  • Thank you all, I couldn't be happier. I am still the head honcho for some time. (until we make the smooth transition) Business as usual with training and organizing along the way.
I just sent out seat tanks today, one to Denmark. I am heading to the shop to make more parts to keep the shelves...

    Airworthiness Certs at Mentone

It is never too early to get ready for certification. I will be performing Airworthiness Certifications at Mentone this year, as in years past. CalumetAir Inc / Wunderlich's Flex shaft prerotator

Dick graciously allowed our chapter members to share his shop on Thursday nights. I was building my first gyro...
Nick and Adam at the lathe in Wunderlich's Inc shop in March 2007 Nick and Adam holding some newly poured MAC engine prerotator parts castings in Wunderlich's foundry behind his shop. In slow times, Dick cast his own parts. I abandoned that practice in a hurry.

  • Someone trying to bring in a Eurogyro and probably having paperwork problems. Some folks see Eurogyros for sale and assume they can buy them like a Cessna, not so today. I was just making a comment as all I know is the applicant was rejected for "discrepancies" ?...

  • I just received an electronic notice, from the FAA, not to issue an airworthiness certificate for a particular gyro on the East Coast. The subject gyro was "blackballed" by an inspector, with a list of items that failed the inspection for certification.
    Notifications like this are how...

So far so good! DAR transition

I hinted that big changes were coming to the FAA, they have started.

I just received my DAR renewal. I now answer to a computer somewhere in the FAA. It seems like they are having machines manage DARs from now on.

I will learn more as I go along. The good news is that I am...

    replied to Rotor Head
I wouldn't think any permissions would be necessary. Rotor head drawings have been published here and elsewhere before. Thank you in advance.
