Hi all. Had a great time at mentone. Enjoyed meeting all of you that I met.
just one of the many highlights was a rockin flight with Jim Logan. Again, thanks for bustin the myth in my eyes.

Glad that you enjoyed your flight with Jim Logan...one of the best.

I had two demo flights with Jim in his RAF when I was deciding on whether I wanted an RAF. He sold me. He's a real smoothie with the demos.

Cheers :)

Stevo, the myth is not true . . .Jim Logan is not gay!!!
You may have got the wrong impression, he is a straight man and outstanding guy!
His ship is good too . . .

RAF Mythbuster.

RAF Mythbuster.

Yes Jim is an awsome pilot. I was scared to death of riding in it,just because of all the banter and rants, but I saw him fly it many times then took the plunge. I am sill here to tell about it. Maybe not everyone should drive a corvette either. We went 100 + mph indicated on a 18 flyby and it was rock steady. I had a blast!

Heron You are a Hoot!

Ya, Jim is a very good pilot. I've got 5 hours with him. His RAF is really fast and he flys it awsome. Very talented and experienced pilot

"Ya, banter and rants......"

Can we please have a moment of silence for the six dead this last month......

We are about to get in trouble with the FAA again. Just when the numbers were down and they were noticing......

And Please......! mythbusters are no mythbusters. I have watched their show. Their methods of proving a point do not prove THE point.

Glad you had fun and if you were going to do it in that ship I am glad Jim was the one doing that. He is a good pilot.

Response mcbirdman.

Response mcbirdman.

Again maybe not all are suited for a nascar racer or a corvette. Overdriving ones skills sometimes is tragic.

By the way I saw your work. Some day we may have a moment of silence for you because one of your crappy welds broke. When you point a finger there will be 3 pointing back.
Stevo.

Ouch that really hurt you didn't it. I said that to point out that you do no service to the gyro community by saying the problems are myths.

So now you want to talk about crappy welds?

Just so you know.... The frame is very forgiving in that there are Many pieces holding it together... not Rivets.... and not cross tubes with an egg sitting on top of such cross beam. Straight out to WI.

There is a lot more strength in my frame than in any Egg you got your eye on but that is ok. Your choice but please don't distort what HAS happened not what THINK happens or might.

Ron Herron looked my machine over BEFORE it was covered and I trust his words far more than I would from a man that worships a mythbuster.

I see from your photo you are into bolting frames together. I guess you are a welder and know all about my machine. Wow. I see a lot of ignorence from people like you without a clue. Dang tire kickers who can't take a point..... just want to distort it.....!

My point is that your excuberence proved nothing and you want to tear my machine apart but don't know anything about it. And the two other people who offered to fly my machine would not have done so if they felt the same as you.

Did you notice that I and the other posts said he is a good pilot? Nowhere did they agree that Jim can change the rules. You want to drag me off somewhere else I won't go. She flew several times and took the rough field in stride. Go try and drive your machine around the heli field and see just how long it takes to pop some rivits or bolts. Better yet explain what you mean by myth and then why you chose to divert to something else instead of acknowledging that your enthusiasm proves nothing...... Have fun. Be smart. Choose smart. Remember that pilot error just might begin with what you buy or build. I would much more take my chances on a failed part in a design that protects you rather than a failed design that has NO protection.

If you REALLY had an issue or really cared I would think that you would have approached the builder instead of running your fingers off. I think I have seen this tactic before. Thank you. Again, I want to point out that nowhere did anyone else say they agreed with you other than the fact that we all said Jim is a great pilot. I just pointed out something that is a fact, not a feeling. Your feelings are hurt about the fact. Sorry. Good pilot yes - Mythbuster - NOT !

No worship Only fact.

I once saw someone swallow a sword. Therefore it isn't a myth but I'm not about to try it either.

Mythbusters

The victim in the photo below reportedly had several hundred hours in a LowRider AirCommand but only a few hours with Jim Logan.

All of which is hearsay until someone comes up with a copy of the official accident investigation.

Perhaps the photos are fakes.

Yes Tim and what is the myth in question anyways? By minimizing a serious flaw to as people just "ranting"
about the stock machine it sounds like just another well meaning but rather ignorent post being presented as some sort of proof that serious flaws don't exist. The myth is not specifically pointed out but it is very clear what he means. When he can't overcome my point he wants to drag me in the mud. Whatever.

These problems are much more than a demo from a highly trained pilot and and I don't care what someone says about my machine- especially when it isn't the topic of conversation and used to divert attention or hurt feelings. It is a very suspect way to defend something by not arguing point to point.......

Simply put. It is not a myth and the first post is confusing and misleading. I am very saddened by the high losses of last month and it didn't help that one of the persons lost was another countries best pilot. Also of significance is that he normally flew in a stabbed machine and then when he got into one that wasn't - crashed. Interesting, sad and pertinent to what Stevorotor was indicating in his overly enthusiastic post AS WELL as proving the point that I have made how much newbies are still being easily influenced in demonstrations such as this. Very Sad. Truly and sincerely, there is an attitude problem and a design problem no matter who is at the stick. Your chances are much better with a high time pilot is all..... jtm

Hey - did you notice that a tractor was just hopped into and flown without any advanced drawn out training? Maybe Jim would let you just take his machine and go fly it if you are a already a pilot. I think not and that is why I am trying to tell you that all is NOT as it seems.

not a diversion Only fact.

Lets see if I got this straight-- youve got 21 posts and as far as I can tell (from your bio) you dont even own a gyro and have ZERO hours as PIC flying time in them --yup your really qualified to make accurate assesments of an RAF--

C. B. and perhaps the people in michigan don't count either. Maybe they couldn't rivet OR Fly........ Yea, I probably just happened to look up gyros in Michigan and they happened to be RAF'rs and they were all either bad builders or bad flyers. Imagine that. Easier for Steveorotor than for me.
I know there is something to it AND the posts found on this forum deal with the specifics.

If he had said he had a JEE WIZ ride I would have had no issue but that is not what was going on. I don't have enough time to argue obviously mis-aligned counterpoints. It is kinda like discussing aerodynamics, history, and dynamics with a pig farmer. Standing there talking all you really notice is how much it is a stinking waste of time and it isn't any fun because when you finally get away the only thing changing is your clothes as soon as you get home. I just don't have time to go into the mud. Maybe someone else wants to talk crap.

I just simply don't understand what myth has been busted - I guess I am actually TELLING you your testing is flawed AND understand you in turn, want to turn......
