Well, It turned out to be a bummer of a day. Someone stole my gyro trailer today in broad daylight. It was parked in the yard right beside my house. Hope they get caught and go to jail.

PS. Thankfully the gyro was not on it.

It sucks to get ripped off like that. If you have some insurance that'll pay to replace it, you could use the money towards a toy hauler like Bob Simmons. Good reason to upgrade.

Tim: Man.....wouldnt you like to find who did that? My dad caught someone stealing gas years ago on the farm. He made the guy a "slave" for a week. Gave him some all blue work clothes and had him do hard manual labor on the farm .....or he was calling the sheriff. The guy got to keep his uniform after he served his weeks sentence....it was pretty ragged anyway. Those were the good ol days.

Where's that Arizona sheriff when you need him?

:sorry:

The steel mesh on the sides is pretty rare around here. I've got some flyers made up to put in all the coffee shops, stores and restaurants leading out of town. Most likely it was some redneck that lives North of town. I have a $500 deductible on my homeowner's insurance so I'm planning on offering a cash reward. Some redneck neighbor will turn in the guilty party for a little cash. Also, since I work for ma bell, our crew covers the entire county. It'll turn up somewhere.

A friend of mine had his taken several months back ago and the guy was caught re-stealing from the guy he sold it to. Apparently he had done this several times. His story had a happy ending as he got it back and had not even reported it stolen.

Hope you get it back!

He may be offering it for sale. I know a detective who trolls Craigslist and eBay with a list of stolen bicycles, musical instruments, etc. Recovers a lot of stolen property.

The first place I'd look would be Craigslist in your area. As it's free, it appeals to thieves. eBay costs money, so they might not use it. Good luck.

Tim, happy hunting. If you have events like mudfests or buggy gatherings, look there. That is a good 4-wheeler trailer. I have a boat in the yard and haven't seen my house keys in over a year, but the smallest dog I have is 70lbs., and it's actually their house.

Phil.

Sorry to hear that Tim, I hope you catch the #@&*% punks!

Can you air-patrol the area from your gyro?

Tim,

Sorry to hear about your theft. It's too late for your stolen trailer, but on mine, I use one of those ball hitch locks, whether it's hitched to my truck, or sitting in my yard like yours does.

That lock may not stop a determined thief, but it will surely slow down whoever wants to steal it, as they have to hacksaw it off before they can raise the ball hitch lever. Without the lock, they can be backed up, and hooked up, and gone, in just a couple of minutes.

I think they're less than 20 bucks.

I also use a lock on my hitch receiver. We were travelling with friends in their motor home several years back. He was towing his car behind the motor home. We stopped at a restaurant for dinner, and we both checked all the hitch stuff, and the wiring harness, before going into the restaurant.

Came out after dinner, pulled onto the Interstate, to suddenly find out the car trailer was loose, and diving left and right by the safety chains. Stopped without further incident, and found someone had removed the reciever pin while we were eating dinner! I was able to find a bolt that got us off the highway, and we stopped and bought a locking one after that. Ever since then, I've locked both parts of my trailering system. Even if they don't intend to steal it, they can still hurt you financially by pulling stupid stunts like they did to our friends. $40 is good insurance for piece of mind.

While there is no way to stop a theif there are ways to convice them that somone else is an easier target. Here is a link to some security stuff you might consider.

sorry to hear about your trailor Tim.......i guess its not enough the goofy schools cant teach our kids how to read, they cant teach em enough to keep a job and be respectful of personal property either.....too many parents just too busy to keep track of their own kids.....In kindergarden we learned how to share, not how to steal........good luck getting it back, tons of lawn care companies around here use those types of trailors to get around.

Brother Tim,
I am sorry to hear about your trailer. I know with your network of folks you will find it. Here in Texas if someone is taking your stuff you can cap their ass. I hope you get it back soon and you find out who did it.
