MJ, just to set facts straight, about a few things....
One, I was not even in the same building as the club members when the vote took place. I did not vote, and to be real loud and clear here I will make this bold so it won't be missed.... I suggested that neither you nor Catfish were to be totally replaced, but that instead, you and Catfish should remain officers and add Scott Lewis. That would have put four people in control of the club, Scott... David.... MaryJane....Richard, to run the four officer positions, Pres... VP.... Tres.... Sec. Now some might say that as a non club member, my ideas or suggestions or advise is not needed nor welcomed, but no one said that to me at the fly-in before, during, or after the meeting/election. If some Ball-less peckerhead told you I voted in this election, or that this whole thing was my doing, then you listened to the wrong person. One thing I have noticed is there is alot of gutless people, who will do one thing in your presence and another thing behind your back, and I think there was one or two members present at that meeting are just this type of person.
Two, Club members tried to contact you and Catfish several times before the meeting to get your input about the vote. EVERYONE wanted to make sure that if the vote took place and new officers were elected, that you and Catfish would be happy with this news and not feel the way you obviously took it. I witness'ed Both Scott, Ernie, and David try to call you before the meeting took place. If you asked David not to hold elections at the meeting, he sure did not indicate it.... He seemed concerned about having a vote, but I never heard him say you asked him not to hold it.
Lastly, it would be great if all 100 members had voted, who knows how the outcome would have been.... who knows, maybe there would have been nominations for officer postions from more people as well. Fact of the matter is though, that the elections have always took place at the new years fly-in and from what I could tell, all club members knew the fly-in was taking place, If all 100 members wanted to place a vote or to discuss club business at the meeting, they could have been there to cast a vote. Only a handful of people showed up, and only 13 voted. Our PRA chapter 13 has held it's elections with half as many voting members present, and we have 50 or so active members in our chapter.
Anyway, this whole thing was never meant to be taken so out of context as it has been taken. I think everyone who was there for that meeting, and who knows what all has taken place since, is totally blown away over what this has become.
I hope that it is clear that I did not vote in this election, and that it is clear that everyone seemed to think that this relief from running the club after so many years would have been good news to you guys.
