Successful Gyroplane Emergency Landing

Continuing the drift -

When the Ford Maverick was first introduced about 50 years ago, the colors included HullaBlue, Mellow Yellow, Original Cinnamon, Anti-establishMint, Freudian Gilt, and Thanks Vermillion.

I carefully examined my box of Crayolas looking for vocabulary words and the colors had wonderful names like Tropical Rain Forest, Outer space, Manatee, Purple Heart, Purple Mountains Majesty, Wild Blue Yonder, Vivid Violet and Granny Smith Apple but no vocabulary words.

Perhaps yours were some knockoff brand Jim that used the added value of the vocabulary words to make up for a lesser quality crayon.
Ah! I didn't know I couldn't rearrange the letters!

You guys are so smart!

I think manatee counts as a "vocabulary" word.

I had some fun in the Army signing documents with one of these:

But these days it's almost all electronic signature using a CACard
Only one color of pen in the Army. BLACK Soldier.

Haha, you know what? That's not even true. Blue and black ink are both acceptable for signatures.
I know, because I served as S1 for a bit, and I actually read the reg: AR 25-50, Para. 1-20

Well, when I was in, I was always told black was the only color that was acceptable. Guess they were wrong.

I know. I heard the "I was told" line an awful lot. My answer to that was usually, "Oh? Who told you?" 😊

I know how hard they sometimes try, but the ordinary chain of command cannot rewrite the regs, haha.

Jim, I know you were asociated with Sparrowhawk (GB) were you also assiciated with the Hawk turbine model used in the olympic flyovers?

Ouch! Looks cool, but $45 for a ballpoint pen?

Well I started a hornets nest 84#
The thing I don't understand apart from the crayons
Is why there has been a focus on the man becoming an A&P /mechanic.
A/ you are supposed to do a walk round / Pre flight check not an in depth survey, and have a modicum off understanding as to what you are looking at, CFI should show you, mine did, and I was already an engineer
I would expect after a forced landing to B/ ask the A&P what caused the problem and if it was likely to reoccur, C/ what had been done to ensure it was not going to happen again, D/ show me where it had occurred, then impart that information to all interested party's.
.After posting here and being asked what had happened refusing to elaborate I find rude and small minded.

"Bro, the rain caused a sink hole to form on the back side of that blind curve! It almost killed me!"
"No shit?!?, where is it?"
" What do I look like a friggin map?"

Thanks for your recommendations, but I don't think I will change anything I'm doing as to my flying, thinking, and behaving.

I will stick with my wrong attitude and more.
I had a thought to share, but now I've gone and forgotten what it was. Sorry.
Kudos on your safe emergency landing. Good luck.
