New PAL-V gyroplane Fly/Drive youtube video

Heck, would you even want to be driving that thing at 100mph?
I don't think it'll ever be legal to drive in the US, because it's too heavy to qualify as a "motorcycle", and it will never meet automobile crash standards.
As far as "fastest way to become a pilot", at the very least that presumes you have a machine that can actually fly (they don't).

My rough armchair calculations for modern gyros may be as high as 12 pounds per hp .
So being as generous as possible , I estimate the PAL-V would have to be maximum of 1200 lbs gross weight to fly with the 100 hp Rotax 912is
I am not an expert in those calculations so all opinions and corrections are welcome
ps: ... Would also be interested if any pilots here have approximate weights per horsepower for their personal machines.
----------------
EDIT to add .... my estimation shows the Titanium Autogyro is one of the highest gross weights with the lightest modern components .... gross 1268 lbs @ 115 hp = 11.02 lbs per hp
The max gross of my Magni M16 is 1212 lbs, and I'm using a Rotax 912 ULS (99 hp at 5800 rpm (max); 92 hp at 5500, max continuous).
So I don't think you are really being all that generous with your estimation. ☺️

Lots of driving around. I didn't see it fly. Renderings don't count.
I’ have been asking for 11 years now will it fly….all over LinkedIn they are so “chuffed” it’s got road legal status..like really as a car it’s just hideous….Then they are offering the investors who are clearly wondering wtf a ride in the M24 and chanting they training instructors…like is there a world wide shortage of instructors ? and then instead of flying a PAl V they are using M24…look I told one of there top spin doctors his full of shit and using crowd funding including the Dutch government for cash….since that I been off his Christmas card list

Vaporware.....

Paul Moller wannabes. Same grift. And no, parking it next to an actual aircraft on video doesn't make it legit by osmosis.

IMO Hill helicopters are in this same boat …. Sorry for the thread drift

The reason you didn't see it fly is – wait for it – IT DOESN'T FLY! :sneaky:
I doubt it will ever fly …but those Dutch are masters at selling a dream…and my god are they proud of a certificate that says it’s road legal …..like who cares as a car it’s hideous and the world is not short of stupid cars ….they simply skip over the issue of it actually flying …add the fact they are using Magni M24 as the demo model ….imagine I’m buying a new C8 and the dealer uses a Ff&=@@in Toyota Prius as the demo to gain my enthusiasm

what am I missing …you should follow my hard hitting comments on Linked in with Mr Van Der Bosch …the Spinndoctor

….imagine I’m buying a new C8 and the dealer uses a Ff&=@@in Toyota Prius as the demo to gain my enthusiasm

It's worse than that - the Ff&=@@in Toyota Prius is being used to demonstrate the fuel economy of your C8... :(

More BS from the Dutch …

"The world's first flying car"

Q1: is it really a car?
No

Q2: anyone seen it fly?
No

I sure hope the folks flocking to those shows are not too disappointed...
Tyger ..what I don’t understand is now they continue to get funding? the training / flight demos are done on the M24 …go to a cocktail party with glitzy people to look at a contraption that can’t perform on the road and as we all agree can’t fly what’s the attraction? Dutch women who are versatile maybe? just thinking out load as a man?

Always sceptical of these companies that produce a glitzy "finished product" with interior trim options and fancy marketing videos before the thing flies. Seen it here in the UK many times.

I believe they get a bunch of funding from the Dutch government, no?

Speaking of which, what's the current status of the British Bulldog? I hope the bespoke leather interior is working out........

Believe they moved onto an overhead control gyro which was displayed at shows. Think the Bulldog was sold on. No idea of the status of either.

Here it is ….now as a car & bike enthusiast I may add I really have no aspirations to own this contraption
