Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Edge Performance 140hp big bore kit for a Rotax 914?

Thomas at edge offered me a real good price on a big bore kit while I was playing around with turbo's I never took him up so have no real world experience. But only the other day I was talking to someone about them and he said that the edge pistons were rumoured to be to short in the piston skirt allowing excessive movement in the bore and causing some problems. I can't remember whether he said it was already fixed or not.
I can't verify whether it is true or not.
Another option is rotax performance Australia, Steve would sort you out.

Rick, I can't verify if there is any truth to what I said above and I probably shouldn't have said it, so don't take it as gospel I don't want to start anything about edge.

I had it done on my Xenon which also has an aftermarket turbo. Only a dozen or so hours on it but so far satisfied. They rated it about 140 hp.

mine was done at South Mississippi light sport aircraft who have done a pretty good number of them.

The weakest link on a Rotax 912 is the pressed crank, so the Mississippi guys also weld the crank.

Hi Wolfy,
Your right about the piston skirt, apparently the piston was modified after an engine failure in 2017. Full credit to Edge for acting responsibly.
Your also right about Steve P, he does beautiful work fitting aftermarket turbos on 912’s.
Cheers. Rick

Cheers Rick I was just supplied a document confirming it all.
At least if you went with Steve and up the capacity via 912 uls pistons then you are still all rotax.
