Something ...for everyone .... couple of cups of coffee-worth $$$'s for an entry ...low odds ...as a small group participating ...everyone in gyro's should help support PRA ...so PRA can stay financially strong to get those new member benefits/projects ( Affordable Insurance for gyro owners and the group-owned 2 place for training to rotate around the chapters!) ...finished and running ....go & get your entry tickets NOW!!!!

You can go to the PRA Homepage then the Raffle page and purchase tickets as a non member or join and get 5 for the price of 4.

Bobby

Is this correct? I renew or join as a new member for $50 annual dues, I can then get 4-tickets for an addition $10 on the PRA homepage?

Not speaking for PRA but - I think as a non member you pay $40 for 4 tickets. Join PRA and your $40 gets you 5 tickets. Do not think the offer is membership and tickets for $50.

Currently, there are only 19 people in this raffle. Best odds of winning PRA raffles than any other I've seen. I love being Santa! The best part of the job other than giving money to widows.

Members get a 50% discount on as many things as possible. We are a charity and Its pay you literally to join PRA if you buy raffle tickets.
If you buy 4 you get 5. PRA members get time two with the discount = 10 tickets.

I didn't see a link to join the PRA before buying raffle tickets...did I miss something?
thanks!
Crap, did I leave the join link off the NEW automatic raffle display page? Idiot in action.
I'll fix that because it will pay for your membership and double your odds. Only 19 people in it so far.

Only one day left to buy tickets and only 48 people have tickets. You can win our raffles, we love to give things to our community.

PRA is an all-volunteer labor force non-profit charity, we look for benefits to pay members more with discounts than the cost of our yearly dues. Everyone can buy 4 tickets and get five but PRA members get 10 tickets with their 50% discount. They get double tickets no matter how many they buy.

Also, consider if you get PSF magazine for $12. shipping. Note PRA pays 1/2 your $50 dues $24.95 for your subscription (our cost) for PSF magazine.

And PRA new insurance program is going to save about 50% of insurance costs and maybe save our instructors from going out of business with quotes of over 10K a year it not profitable.

John: RE: the Rotax 582 engine set to be raffled next month.
Does it have a gearbox attached to it?
If so, which one...a "B" or a "C" GB?

No Gearbox with this one. There will be a 503 with a 'B' gearbox to be raffled off next.

Bobby, so by inference you want me to ban chapters and officers from donating even though Indiana law allows them all to buy tickets?

Therefore you think Brent and PRA are crooks for a 1K prize? ... He should have waited for the engine.

That would reduce the people you would be up against but it will also reduce 1/3 of the ticket sales and PRA needs revenue from the many; more than the one. Most of the chapters and all PRA directors and officers are our best donnors of time and money.

Ban them from buying and it only makes you feel secure, as we are not crooks, and would have much fewer people in our raffle just so you know we are not crooks.

I would only feel sorry for you missing out on the best odds I've ever seen to win real prizes.
PRA supports you and our entire community whether you support PRA or not but you are going to need to either learn to trust the trustworthy or not, as you wish.

BTW. That same chapter has donated at least $100 on every raffle we've had and this is the first time they won.
They spent $1,200 over 3 years to win $1,000. to $1,300 prize. Christene PRA's VP lost another IIRC $100, again!! But when she wins it will be fair!
PRA is a non-profit charity with all volunteers donating the most precious thing there is in the world = TIME, no-one can buy more. Why do we all do this? = to make the world a better place!! Not to rip anyone off.

PRA's past Raffle Prizes:
  1. $1,000 Aircraft Spruce gift certificate
  2. Bose A20 headset
  3. Two GoPro Cameras and attachments
  4. $1,000 Aircraft Spruce gift certificate
  5. $1,000 in Flight instruction
  6. A single-place Dominator gyroplane kit - Jeff Tipton
  7. $1,000 in Flight instruction - Pat Gallagher
  8. 2nd place PRA backpack filled with PRA merchandise - Gary Roamer
  9. Another $1,000 of Flight instruction.
  10. A single-place custom-built gyroplane
  11. ADS-B Out Transponder Solution
  12. A New 582 Rotax Engine with E-Gearbox

Bobby, out of fairness. When they told me they won. It did make me squirm too. And as I was updating the new raffle database, thinking this is not going to look good.
But it is who won, and we need the donations from chapters and officers to fund our new discount insurance program, educational kit program, and to buy a two-place trainer that we send to all the chapters following the sun advertising the cheapest way to get a license, because there is no cost for the gyro rental except for fuel and maintenance. Then watch our sport grow. It's a dream and the raffle support great rotorcraft causes.

The last word/data on this raffle. I love to creat savings, discounts, and give things away. But it cannot cost us money.
The raw reality as the new Raffle software suite tracks everything automatically=
There were only 53 people who bought 552 tickets average spent $47.17 per person @ $4.53 for a $10 ticket (because of buy 4 get 5 & 50% member discounts). Net profit $1,500 And 5 people joined PRA to get PRA members discounts with twice the raffle tickets. Net dues received after we paid for PSF subscription out of their dues = $24.95 * 5 = 124.75. Total raffle created revenue of $1,624.75.

If you ban directors, officers, chapters, and vocal know PRA volunteers there would have only been 31 people buying tickets and the average spent per person would go down from $47.17 to $27.04 and we would not BREAK EVEN of the prize COST! Which would mean no more 1 out of 13 prize raffles when it costs us money.

As I said the Board, officers, and chapters are PRA best donors and they deserve to win when their ticket is drawn and PRA needs the money to do any real good for our community.

And ....for all you grumpy-butts ...about WHO wins the raffle ...for the record I have supported PRA raffles buying 5 tickets (doubled to 10 by my membership) ...EVERY raffle ( except for engines) ....& in spite of the low entries & high chances ...STILL HAVE NOT WON ANYTHING - NADA -ZIP-EVER!!!! ......so PLEASE ...no flack in the event that PRA officers and loyal supporters, chapter members score a WIN ...... we have been long loyal supporters & contributing to fundraisers as well as in many other areas with $s & volunteer labor! It's the old adage. "YA GOTTA BE INNIT TO WIN IT" ......who knows - maybe NEXT time!!!!!

There was only one guy who complained.
If he would be so kind as to state how many tickets he had in this raffle, then we'd know if he was or wasn't a volume purchaser...
