How do you get the overlays on the video? Looks like fun!
90 MPH.Any idea what the cruise speed is with the M24 and 915 engine? Thanks!
When I tried it we cruised at around 80, the closer you get to 100 the more it vibrates which is why I think 80 is a sensible cruise speed or 130kph90 MPH.

Maximum speed | 105 mph |
Cruising speed | 90 mph |
I test flew a M24 to buy, and beautiful gyro. However, cruise was in mid 60s mph so didn’t buy it. I assumed the prop wasn’t pitched for climb instead of cruise. 90mph is on the slow side for me for long cross country trips. 100mph is ideal. !
If the M24 can get 95mph or more cruise with reasonable rpm and MAP then that would be ideal for cross country trips.
That's too much for the M24, ... A reasonable cruise is 100 km/h (62 mph) @4600 rpm.
I just flew from St. Louis, Mo to Long Island, Bahamas in my M24 915 with the five blade prop. Total 35 hours of flying!
Here are some of the cruise settings I found to work well:
- 96%, 34.5 5220, 6.6 g/h, IAS 90, TAS 99
- 95%, 34.7, 5060, 6.2 g/h, IAS 85, TAS 88
