MAC customer in New Orleans could not wait to finish his exhaust before he took off in his Quicksilver floatplane to test it out and see how much it beats the boots off Rotax 582. Someone once wrote on RF that these engines didn't work, they had tried and failed and everyone should just forget them. Try telling that to Norman Lethbridge, me, and my very happy customer here, Gill. And his pet pig.

I just received another one from the chop shop which is going on a Honey Bee very soon.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Are you kidding me? WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!! people. Here's some nice, fresh coffee and a bagel w/creamcheese.

Yes, I believe the Mac is the best power to weight ratio there is. At least for the price?
The problem with 2 strokes is the care and feeding. If you know how to care and jet them, those folks have few engine outs compared to those who treat them the same a 4 strokes.

He's talkin about a Yamaha 2 cylinder 4 cycle not a McCullough engine.

Thanks, bro, I was confused; ignore my post folks.
I think the Yamaha is the best alternative motor that I would use. It has a good record in gyroplanes and FW's since Todd's first.
I wish someone like you Greg would create a shop that would build the same proven dependable design aircraft version. I believe if someone does that Nicolas would buy one and design it to be the same CLT and perfect HS with the same anti-torque roll. However, without a stable design and motor mounts, all of the Aviomania's we sold that were going to use Yamaha's are still not built and flying, except for the first convertible prototype that Heith built. That's why Nicolas changed his policy to only selling if you buy a Rotax or you have one and send him the serial #. He does not want to sell kits that sit in hangars and 99% of those sold with Rotax or they had one are the only ones flying in the states.

Good!!! This is great news, that engine is perfect for the standard single seat gyro.

Point me to someone with a partially completed Avio that wants to sell it.
