While up in Michigan for my 46th High School reunion in Northville, (the rather unusual year is due to a combining of multiple classes, but I think the best represented class in attendance is my gang from '72) this weekend, I was killing time yesterday visiting the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn to take photos of the awesome 7,498 HP 2-6-6-6 "Allegheny" steam locomotive (my interest in trains has been recently re-kindled of late), when I came across this sweet thang, an original Sikorsky VS-300! Really something to see if you are into rotorcraft. If you are ever in the Detroit/Ann Arbor area, I can suggest this is one of the "do not miss" places to visit, the Ford Museum and Greenfield Village are truly unique and very interesting things you must see, bucket list stuff.

AND...then there's THIS diamond, the "Detroit News" Pitcairn autogiro. This is one of the first "News Choppers, friends! Eye-in-the-sky traffic reports? Haha! Looks like they used it to ferry reporters to/from on-the-spot news happenings around the (at that time) thriving metropolis of Detroit.

Trains happens to be my Dad's hobby. I tried to find some footage of the tracks I used to run on in Ohio when I was a kid, but that was way back before the world wide web. Back then videos were shot on 8MM or the all new Betamax tapes so no luck there. I know one track is gone now and the other is privately owned, I just can't find video. Dad's in Florida now and I think he belongs to one if not both of the clubs in this video. Thought you might enjoy it.
