Newbie here.....

I'm very interested in autogyros and there is a company in Germany called Matto that is producing a beautiful machine....they also has a recovery parachute system built in for added safety. I'm very interested in this gyroplane and am wondering if anyone has any experience with them.... http://www.germangyro.de/en/

Also, I will need to find an instructor reasonably close to me.

Any input would be greatly appreciated about the gyrocopter and/or a gyrocopter instructor.

Thanks
Cary

Looks to be a pretty direct copy of a Trendak tercel. They claim to have done test flights but the Website has no photos and does not even say what engine the gyro has.

Don't send them your downpayment just yet.

Here is a video with some words and views of Matto: https://vimeo.com/104597958
ooks like they want to use something other than traditional rotor controls. And it's apparently powered by Rotax or some of its derivatives.

I just bet that guy is related to Dinelly, what they sell is just blue sky.

I didn't see any their relation to Dinelli. Otto Strauss who is menyioned at their website as project leader, flew Xenons and this Matto looks like close Xenon derivative. Anyway there is too little factual information from them to count them as a real market member. Guys likely are just at the beginning of the attempt.

The rotor system does not appear to be standard Bensen but I can’t tell from the video whether cyclic is Bell-47 rocking hub style or feathering bearing control like a Robinson.

Hello,

This is definitely an existing aircraft and has passed the German approval process. The cabin is indeed very similar to the Xenon/Tercel. You have different motor choices, a Rotax 912 120 hp turbocharged version as well as an aircooled UL-Power if I'm not mistaken. The rotor head is either a Bensen style, if you buy it without BRS or a non-offset Benson, with a large ring-bearing, so that there is a hole in the head, big enough to let the parachute through. I have a picture somewhere, maybe I can find it.
Contact the company, I am not sure, if they plan to provide kits for export.

Kai.

As you live near Houston, contact the Lone Star chapter out of Anahuac and they can give you the names of instructors. The good news is you are in Texas and we have lots of instructors around Houston, Austin, Ft Worth, etc.
