I am building a crash pad to flop in on those late night building sessions . The basics needed for me & my dogs & cat to stay with the gyros.......bed, TV, & heat. Save money on gas !

Instead of bringing the turtle inside for the winter, I released her at the local lake, I think she will be happy there !

Finished painting the inside yesterday, time for the carpet & furniture. Can't wait to spend my first night in there & get back to finishing my SxS.

When I get the carpet fit I can lay the padding, drop the boxspring & mattress & add end tables & lamps. Then invite some girls to teach them about gyros. My cat is pretty happy there !

Its alot like the famous flop house in the gyro hangar at Wauchula

and here I thought it was going to be an article on know to build a pad to crash on in order to keep all of the parts contained to one small area.

Or perhaps it was going to be about a soft pad that would deploy its self during a crash similar to an air bag to protect youself with.
it sounds like its going to be a Cat house.

Have a good one Chris.

Yeah it could have been flying related ! It is really......I can now sleep in my "hangar" with the 2 big gyros. Maybe now I will get them done.

Well work is picking up again & it's getting cooler. A small electric heater warms the room very quickly. I am looking to get my own larger propane tank for heating the rest of the garage.

We'll see.....I got to get the cable run down from the house. Try to reduce all this back & forth with the price of gas & the city ain't gettin no better if you know what I mean !

BTW.....no women in my life right now.....I am better for it ! I am sick of entertaining worthless chicks !

Well I'm spending all my time organizing the entire place....Andy hasn't come to work on his SH for a month.....God I hate that SH tail ! I am going to suggest removing it ...it is not needed for the rest of the build process & it takes up a lot of space !

Hopefully I will have a more efficient shop & will get back to my gyro soon.

I have a perfectly good oil fired warm air furnace I will be using now to heat the main garage.... The bedroom is heated easily with electric but will be hanging my 3 plate propane unvented infrared heater.....real warm !

Check out all the free kitchen cabinets my boss gave me.....he was gonna burn them ! Now to organize all my stuff ....what a job !

I see you're running an IVO prop. Is that a magnum? What diameter and gear ratio?

Oh yeah ! Always hated adjusting my Warp......I even had to loosen the mounting bolts to turn each blade ! PITA !

For my 2.5 Soob, IVO wanted me to get a 72" Mag. I ended up trying to squeeze a 70"...still had to raise the rotor head to get my clearance. Warp wanted to sell me a 5 blade ?

I have an Autoflight gearbox.....2.58-1.....I think ?

Initial runups are producing 5200 rpms with 3 turns of the adjuster past natural pitch (+ pitch)

A 1970's vintage PRA magazine featured a guy who wanted to build a Scorpion helo but couldn't afford it. But he REALLY wanted one.

To free up cash, he gave up having a home. He rented a workshop near both a gym and a McDonald's. He built a bunk under his workbench. Ho got showers at the gym and meals (sort of) at Mickey D's. And he built that Scorpion.

All a matter of priorities.

I didn't sell my home yet, just making the shop more winter friendly & more efficient..... Soon to get back to my SxS & hope to have her flying this coming spring. Then I will begin building the KB2 I have & help Andy finish his SH.

Taking friends up is my dream.....I hope it works !

I am always happy to take a ride in my Single place.....I have a new set of strobes with nav lights to put on her.

It seems that the cold temps have arrived here.....I hope not for long....& please God.....NO SNOW !
