C-44 First Medical Evacuation Gyroplane

All they showed was a gyro taking off and landing with a red cross on it. What can it actually do medically for a patient. Can there possibly be enough room for a patient AND a medic be able to move around inside? I just don't get it.

It still needs a runway, so it can't get in and out of disaster/accident sites like a helicopter and it can't land at a hospital, either. It has no IFR capability, so it could only be used for good weather emergencies. If it's just for transportation between cities it will be terribly slow compared to an airplane and offer no safety or onboard care advantages, so I see no market it for it at all. Everybody in the medevac business is using twin engine helicopters these days, and this little gyro will not be serious competition for the BK-117 / Airbus H-145 series.

This is is like a luxury shovel or a sport hammer. Who would want one?

Come to think of it, you could remove the red crosses, forget the medevac pretense, and sell it as an aerial (solo) RV. Fly where you wish, then stretch out in your sleeping bag on the right side to avoid a hotel bill after you arrive. No bath or kitchen, unfortunately.

WaspAir, you might have a solution to the "fly-in" camping situation. A modified SUV tailgate tent on the side of a gyro could possibly sleep two alongside a tandem gyro. You were just a few years ahead of time.
