Sorry John but I really don't know what kind of plastic they are, 1/8 " thick screwed and glued they could be lighter and a little bigger, maybe thin aluminum over foam or balsa.

For tails, it's hard to beat the pros at Cessna at their own game. So, I suggest...

Get hold of a book or some online instructions on building formed-rib-and-sheet-metal tails. Rivet it together and you have a very light, strong tail with a true airfoil -- and no endless sanding-filling cycles as with paintbrush-laid fiberglass.

Hey, talk nice about endless sanding-filing cycles; they get me out of the house and away from the war department! Now, I get to drink my beer in peace.

Have a couple more beers and you won't need the sanding/filling. It'll look just fine as it is.
