This Is A Rotor Craft Forum, But most of us Have other hobbies so tell me about your hobbies.

For Me Most Of You Will Think It's Childish But I assure you it's not I started this in 1976 at the age of 6 but only got real serious about it in 2008
I'm a airgun fanatic and i'm addicted I buy air guns mod then and build them from scratch it's a fun hobby but if your not careful it gets very expensive fast.
I have one Airgun that I build my self and have had others make parts for me that I have over 2000$ invested and it's not even compleated yet.

Other thing you have to watch is you can buy a 900$ airgun and spend 1000$ more on tuning parts and modding it.

but what I like the most is a do Field Target competition with my airguns and this is a super competitive sport that is a ton of fun.

LOL I graduated from high school in 1976. I am an avid gun sport person and have been target shooting since I was 7 or 8 and yet I have never heard of air gun competition. I would be interested in some links.

My current passions are 3D printing and drones. I regularly design and print parts for my drones. Some guys are printing props! I have flown rc forever and am fascinated by drones. I have scratch built about 8 of them. A couple of my drones are 100% printed. It takes a full on nerd to build, program, and fly those little buggers.

I will Gladly give you links. and info on Field Target and airgun competitions.

The day I notice I had been a geek/Nerd most of my life I was sad but I accepted it now.
I was a nerd that was good in sports and defending him self so I was sure I was a jock
but really I was a geek. I do geeky tings too.

In 1976 I was 6 years old.

Field Target air gun looks very similar to other gun events. I am more into shooting clays with a shotgun. Sporting clays is fun and has been called golf with a shotgun because you move around a course and shoot different targets flying at each station. A round is 100 shots.

Great question. I hope others will chime in. For me it's songwriting and performing (drums and keyboards). But it's taking a back seat until my gyro is complete (Hey that rhymes and everything!)

Here are a few pic's of my bought and build ones.

Boats are my great love other than aircraft/autogyros. When I met my wife we cruised in a 14ft foldable sail boat, a Klepper "Passat", along the Swedish coast. Our Honeymoon was a three week trip along the Swedish east coast to Norrkoeping. With all the camping gear plus six gallons of water and a dozen bottles of beer we drew about four inches with dagger board up, so we could land at the smallest of skerries, put up our tent and live there until we ran out of beer..;-)

This year is our 30th wedding anniversary and we celebrated it by cruising on the river Maas (and had a great evening in an Italian restaurant in Roermond).

The Passat looks like this:

sail area is 85 sqft and it has an aluminum dagger board and rudder

Some more "Passat" stuff ("Passat" is the German word for tradewind)

Romantic this sail boat

This Month me and my wife will celebrate 31 years of union and 11 years of marriage.

I hunt coyotes all winter here in Minnesota. Too cold to fly. I also make knives just for fun.

HighAltitude, it would be great to see the drones you mentioned. Are you doing FPV with them too?

Not related to a VW Passat, I assume.

A car called "Passat" is one damned fake! To give a name to a b!@@dy car that is so deeply related to the great sea and all its wonders is fraud at the least... but then its the same criminal bastards who sell you a dirty Diesel with a fake software that makes you believe you have a clean environmental conscience...;-( ...... currently you can't help but feel that it is all downhill in Germany nowadays!

I'm old so have all the toys I used to be into each of those ALL IN as I am now with gyros. So today when friends call I grab a toy and go play maybe only get to do each of those 5 to 10 times a year.
San Diego is the only place I can live where all of this is available from 15 min's to 1.5 hours away including mountains for camping, hiking and fishing, and I use Mexico, next door as gas their is 1/2 the price no taxes and dentists are about 20% of the cost in the states and if I needed a prescription even all of the old folks homes take a bus to the boarder. They walk across the boarder and buy them for 10% of the cost here as our companies sell them to Mexico for that much less as they know they cannot afford our prices and would all die.

Always been interested in Chemistry so lately I've been turning alcohols into urine.

I am liking the way you think.
Napoleon used urine from the soldiers and animals and used it as a source of nitrate. The urine was collected, converted from calcium nitrate to potassium nitrate (saltpeter), and combined with charcoal and sulfur to field armies
.
