No wings, can you break down how you get from 118# bare to 160# installed? The 160# you quote sounds overly optimistic.

That's already been done elsewhere on here, and on Facebook Yamaha Aircraft Engines for the RX1, which weighs 7# more than the Apex.

Do you have a cost?

Good question. The cost for salvage Apex engines has come down to the same or even less than the RX1 engines this year. They are by now far more plentiful than the RX1, which is becoming more scarce as time goes by. After all, the last time Yamaha produced an RX1 was well over 12 years ago, the last model year being for 2005.

Mohawk GTI Apex (YG4i) adapter complete, including hardware: $1495.00
Mohawk SP Gearbox, no hidden "machining" costs, no extra anything: $1795.00
***Alt. Rotax C gearbox: $1625 plus shipping to MAC for required machining of mounting face, and add $200.00 to machine it or you can choose to do it yourself
***Alt. Your previously-purchased Air Trikes SPG4 or Rotax C, even if it has already been machined by Sky Trax for an RX1 conversion.
Mohawk GT4 RAM clutch, roller ramp type: $695
***GT5 CAM clutch: $695
***GT6 SPRAg clutch: $550
GTX Clutch puller tool: $25

NOTE: All GT4/5/6 clutches retro fit and replace all RK400 clutch installations, all BMW type centrifugal clutches, and all other centrifugal clutch installations regardless of original conversion use/design and builder, including all Rotax shops and Rotax 2-cycle engines using RK400 clutches, the little-known Russian Tango gyrocopter builders (YG3), Todd Reick (YG3 Nytro kit maker), and Teal Jenkins aka Sky Trax (YG4 RX1 kit maker).

An Apex countershaft (CS) is bolted to the customer's crankcase cover (CCV). This assembly is placed over a steel cylinder with protective rubber coating on the rim to prevent scratching the gasket mating surface of the CCV. The CCV has already been shuffle pinned on a mill, from the engine, through the CCV, and into the adapter collar to insure precision alignment and prevent radial flex during operation. The collar is likewise shuffle pinned on the mill to the adapter plate. A GT4 roller clutch is attached to the CS and the 1/2-20 x 1" bolt is hand-tightened to snug it up. The plate is fixed to the collar and CCV with stainless steel M6 cap screws, recessed into the plate. Hollow M10 x M8 aligning pins are inserted into pockets machined into the plate and RXC, and the M8 RXC mounting bolt passes through into the threaded adapter pockets. After final fit, pinning and clearancing is completed by MAC, the kit is disassembled and shipped to the customer for final installation onto the customer's fuel injected 150HP Yamaha Apex engine.
