  • Weather and traffic on the cheap

This is the same thing commercial pilots use. I built mine for $100 minus the cost of the tablet. Think of it as a transponder that only recieves signals. The airplane I am building will be equipped with this.

    Good stuff!

I have In/Out on my Piper Warrior via a FreeFlight Rangr and use a Samsung 7 tablet as my primary display of FIS-B (and my IFR charts, plates, etc.) via Avare, a free Android app.

I also picked up a $20 pay-as-you-go LG smart phone from WalMart and dont pay at all for phone service; I use Avare via WiFi to get traffic and Velcro the phone in my scan area. In a gyro it could easily be Velcrod to the dash. An old smart phone you no longer use can do the same thing, coupled to your Stratux.

For 2020-compliant ADS-B Out, check out the Trig TN72 coupled with a Trig TT22. Thats the route Im going with my Magni M-16, though Im trying a generic $20 GPS antenna instead of the $300 Trig one. The Stratux you showed is prob how Ill do in.

I have built a couple with parts from Amazon. Here are the instructions and parts list.

Cost about $120 I think. I added the ADHARS so I would have an attitude indicator.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Mn1rWLkUya8 this kind of technology would cost you a mortgage payment, just saying!
