Default Karma strikes again !

  • Visiting P-51 Mustang gets a flat tire on landing.
  • Son of a forum denizen (grey T-shirt) is working late and goes to help the stricken aviator.
  • 51 driver says thanks in a most delightful way.
  • Grin..... priceless

Tom,
Who's flying "Moonbeam McSwine" this year? Looks like the Museum at Barksdale AFB is taking good care of her.

This aircraft is owned by a local hotel owner, Vlado Lennoch (sp?). I do not know if this P-51 is the original McSwine or just painted like it.

The original pilot of "Moonbeam McSwine" died and his ashes were scattered from this airplane. It is his name that is painted alongside the canopy.

I had heard Vlado got another airplane. He is one of my favorite pilots at Reno. All the Unlimited drivers are really nice guys. It's nice to know Moonbeam is in good hands.

Tom, the same day as the P-51 tire failure there was a small two tone blue jet doing fly by's and pull up's. Any idea who that was. Since it was during the time of the Quiet (silent?) Birdmen meeting. I assume he was performing for them.
