Default Some pictures of Bruno Nagler and his pressure jet helicopter, etc.

Here's some of my pictures taken in and around Phoenix Arizona US:

Test pilot Chuck Tucker flying a Nagler prototype.

That was mine. It was a very nice flying machine, but the belts and chains
made it a maintenance nightmare.

Default A brochure Showing what Nagler aircraft co. wanted to produce (pressure jet)

Notice Nagler had the T-Bar stick long before Frank Robinson used it.

Hi Turbotip,

You sure have some historic pictures of Bruno's work, our paths were running parallel in those days. I was designing simular vectored air, tip jet helicopters in my country. This may have been about 1974. Later in 1992 I happened to be introduced to Dave Thompson when I was in America, the guy who built the rotor blades for another design incorporating Bruno's designs. Was he related to Darrow Thompson?

I have a new jet tipped design, a hybred to overcome the inertial losses of the system. I also tried a reheat tip jet like the Rotordyne. Bruno seemed to have done a good design job on his rotor head but being a pioneer he did not have the benifit of some of the now better understood associated physics of this system.

Where is Bruno now, he must be quite old now. You may be able to contact me directly be email forwarded by the Rotarywing forum as there is more information we might like to exchange. I still the original brochure of the phoenix tip jet hehicopter.
