......they are beautiful specimens of the Raf 2000 gyroplane. The pics are great.

It is just a shame that they happen to be one of the most dangerous, if not the most dangerous gyroplane available to the usually uninformed public.

This is the power of fantastic marketing, and of course the name of the company, Rotary Airforce Marketing, suggests that they are much better at marketing than gyroplane knowledge and design.

Why are Raf now concentrating sales to countries where gyroplane knowledge is less than in countries like the US, Australia, NZ, UK, and parts of Europe etc?

Because these less gyroplane aerodynamic educated people are more easily convinced with Rafs "bull****" re safe engineering and lack of aerodynamic sense in their design.

I was fooled for a while and it cost me considerable money, but that is beside the point. The main part was I woke up to them with the help of the people in the more gyroplane knowledgeable countries.

Harry and Eban, those Rafs in the pics are outstanding pieces of workmanship and I am jealous of the ability to make such nice looking machines.

Aussie Paul.

Is it true that the RAF 2000 attracts birds?

When birds see an RAF 2000 flying they all stare at it and wonder how anything can fly without having tail feathers for pitch stability...

Hey Paul B. how are things going? Remember many years ago when you thought I was wrong about the stability issues with the RAF??

Default Got my new RAF2000

After 27 hrs on the road non stop, I finally got my new flying toy home. Instruction is still on going and hope to be completed in March.
I will type up my obituary and post it for the guys who are against the aircraft. Its a work in progress and has covered almost everything that flys from fixed wing to gliders (powered and unpowered), so I will try to add the RAF to it as the final death wish as some would say on this list
I think proper instruction goes a long way and most accidents are pilot error, so I will try not to make an error that kills me. I have the horizontal Stab, and know the dos and donts so I will try to keep it safe and represent the sport in a positive light.

Bill, did we meet at a fly-in earlier in 2005? Do you fly a Ercoupe?

And the RAF with the mods is not that bad of a machine. With the mods and flown right you got nothing to be worried about. The machines in the pics on the other hand can be very dangerous even for a experienced pilot.

Bill, post some pics. You've already come a long way by having a horizontal stab on it. That minimizes the risks greatly. Be sure to upgrade all the rod-end bearings in the control system to Heims if not already done. Should be 10 total. The factory supplied ones are trash and can crack and screw up your day. Have you any time in gyros? How far is Fayetteville from Charlotte? (I'm too lazy to break out a map).
