Default greetings members

My name is James Mahoney from Rockledge, Florida and I took my first gyro flight at ROC this month. Now this is flying that I can get excited in! I did a lot of repelling from helos, from the mountainsides in California and Korea while in the Marines and have tried skydiving. I am so glad I had the privilege of flying in a gyro. It is the first thing that has been exciting since! I just loved the open feeling, not being enclosed, and being able to just change directions so fast. Being able to almost hover and the rapid descent was also amazing. Anyway, I am hooked so my education process has begun. Everyone at ROC was so nice and helpful. Thanks to everyone especially "Old One Eye", my Dad who is a pilot and a member of this forum who took me to ROC. He is pushing me to get my Sport Pilot rating so we can build a gyro and get into the air!

Welcome. I currently live in Orlando but work at KSC. I hope to start a build around the first of the year.

Congrats on your introductory ride. I also did skydiving in the past. I also was hooked on gyros my first ride. Why wait to build? There are several nice ready-to-fly gyros for sale here on the forum. Just add lessons and you'll be in the air. Good luck and hope to see you at Bensen Days in April.

Wellcome, my father was in the Marines, I really miss him. My sons and I have several gyro projects going as well. Good Luck, do your research, take your lessons and hope to meet you at ROC or Florida someday.

Hi James,

The fever will continue until delusions of pure insanity set-in where you flap your arms like a bird, running in a circle yelling the whole time "I'm flying, I'm flying" or until you solo for the first time, in your gyro. Welcome fly safe

Thumbs up Hey there

Hi James

We are neighbors. When I'm in the U.S. I live in Palm Bay. Glad to see someone else local join up. Now if we can just get the Valkaria airport back from Mosquitoe Control and FIT we could have some real fun.

Look forward to posts from ya man.

Scotty
