Default 3 questions about Mentone convention

One. what is the identifier for the airport. Trying to find it on AirNav.com

Two. What is the official dates of the fly in, and what are the real dates? In other words, for Bensen Days and ROC we start the fly in on a Tuesday or Wednesday of a given week and the fly in goes on till Sunday, but most people are packed up and gone by Sunday Morning. Saturday is usually the last good day of these two fly ins. Wondering about Mentone cause I am thinking of flying up there - looks to be just under 3 hours flight in the RV instead of 12+ hours drive in car - but I can't take a week off like most people and will only be able to take maybe a friday off and then have the rest of the weekend. Wanting to see if it is worth the hassle. Don't want to fly up there if Friday is the last day.....

Last. Anyone with airconditioning in their camper, willing to rent me a space to sleep if I make it up there?

Friday and Saturday are great, Saturday night some people leave, Sunday is not worth it IMHO.

The offical dates are July 20-23rd. Of course alot of people get there on the monday before, and play all week long! IF you can make it in Fri. afternoon, you would still get a full day of fun on Saturday. The only people that leave on Sat. are the folks that need to set up for AirVenture at OshKosh.

Hope you will make the trip! If you can't take the cool nites here, then Rochester is only 12 miles away, and they have hotel rooms. Warsaw (my home town) is 12 miles away as well, and has about 8 hotels/motels to stay at!

All this info will be posted on the PRA website this coming week-end !

Heron, Have you ever been to the convention?

There is always some of us that hang around until the very end. Mainly because we are the volenteer clean up crew, and since we are waitng around for all the dust to settle, we may as well enjoy some free-flying time!

it is the "big dogs. and the manufacturers that bail early... some have too, and others have been there since the previous monday and have had enough, so they head home before the week-end is gone.

I know that Tim!
But I am saying a coordinated affort to keep interest at a peek.
The guys that do the close up have a tough job, I do not like that shift, I get very emotional about it.
On my basketball days I went to the final (did lots of them) all packed and ready to leave, by the time the crowd noise stoped ringing in my ears I was far away from the arena . . .call me a sissy, I deserve . . .
The general public only have saturday and sunday to go to the show and some kind of demo tour would be a great asset as an educational tool for new people to engage with our hobby/sport/profession/passion/alloftheabove
thanks and to all that work the aftermath shift my respects
