I have a Power Fin Prop and hub. the bolts are Allen bolts and are not drilled for safety wire.

I went on the Power Fin Website and there was no mention there at all in regard to safety wiring the bolts, only specific torque.

When I removed the prerotator drum I noticed no nut on the end of the bolts and I have seen pictures of others this way.

My question is is this normal? Should there be nuts on the bolt ends and if not, why not? Is proper torque sufficient to keep these bolt in in place? Is checking torque on preflight enough also.

Personally I think there should be nuts on the inside of your prop hub, plus as I did mine you should drill the bolts after nuts are installed and either pinned or safety wired using castle nuts. Thats my opinion for what its worth. A little extra time and effort makes for a safer machine!!!
