Hi Rick

Basiclly I was wondering if the vendors were pleased with the turnout and the amount of interest from the public in attendance.

Well Rick, sorry to hear traffic was slow, was hoping the "50th" would bring more action. Looks like the economy is really biting How's the electric situation on the field for the vendors ??

I had my vendor display on Friday & Saturday, 2 or 3 people both days. Worst ever and I don't know why.
Made about $15.00 dollars, spent around $300.00.
Maybe too hot, as Rick said.

I seemed to do just fine between training and my wife doing massage. I am sorry others did not do as good.

The KeroCooked hot dog shirts sold out, and I had to have a 2nd kerocook off. Gave" away 50 kerocooked hotdogs. More T-shirts for next year are planned.

Default Nope on that one

Glad you did OK Desmond...
after all was said and done..after two weeks at Mentone and got back home with a grand slam of 642.00 to show..
Don't know if that answered your question or not...

Atleast no one was hurt or possibly worse..
To Me......that's all that counts anyway...

I asked Bear Perkins how business was for the stay there at Mentone as I bought a couple of small items from him. He said Thursday was his biggest day, and be barely made his expenses overall for the week.

I wanted to buy a set of wheel rachet straps for my gyro for trailering, but the two he had with him were too small for my tires (but they fit most PPC tires), so I have to order from him online to get the size he has back home.

The heat and humidity was oppressive, the goings-on kept the crowds busy watching instead of buying...too much excitement for anyone extremely interested in rotors.

Massages and flying...what a combination! I purchased Cristy's Magic Fingers massage machine. My wife LOVES it, and it is very little work for me to use on her instead of my arms and hands for working on her low back muscles. She works hard at her physical labor job, and then doesn't slow down much at home, too. If anyone loves muscle massage, maybe Cristy sells her machine by mail...she had it at a discount to her normal price while at Mentone.

Default Did you have a sign up for Calumet?

Tom: I meant to get over and talk w/ you to see about ordering one of the upper prerotators from you, but the time flew by so fast like it does at gyro events. I've asked others if they experience that same thing I do: Time seems to go by 3-4 times as fast as normal. Before you know it, the event is over and folks have gone home.

Post Vendors at Mentone

I spent several hours at Mentone with Doug Fetters of Sport Link Communications trying to solve my transmitting/receiving noise while flying. On the ground it is just fine for both. I missed the general membership and advisory council (life members) meetings as a result, both of which I wanted to be at.

Doug has great fitting and comfortable headsets! Better than the used Bose ANR set I just purchased from a local guy here. So, I bought Doug's to replace the Bose. They also worked better in flight for noise. The memory foam ear cups and stereo speakers for music are also very nice!
