Default AirTrikes.net Subaru Gear Redrive

I got my redrive in from AirTrikes the other day and and very pleased with the contraption and my dealings with AirTrikes.com thus far. Here are some preliminary snapshots. I'll post more once I get the EJ22 rebuild completed:

Looks nice. I can't seem to find it. Can you post a link?
Thanks
Brad

Brad: Yeah, my bad...I did a dot com instead of a dot net. The link is: http://airtrikes.net I fixed the title. Sorry for the misdirection.

Tony: No. It has no clutch-specific design. It uses, in fact, the BMW rubber donut and an adapter to bolt to the crankshaft/flywheel on the engine. I didn't include the adapter or the donut in the pictures (because I forgot to take pictures of them when I was at the airport). This particular re-drive was designed for the Suzuki turbo, but has available bell housings and adapters for a variety of engines. On their site, it is called the SP-4.

Robert Fiveson has one on the back of his 2-place Air Command (EJ25) and has had good luck with it. Most of the time on these boxes is on trikes presently.

Jon

Really glad to see you putting the gearbox on the EJ-22, think this will eliminate most of the bearing problems that have been encountered in the past (and broken crankshafts)

Did that come out of Canada ?? Looks like good casting work. Also glad to hear the report on the EJ-25 and the gear box. Are they competitive in cost to the belt drives ??

Am inclined to feel the gearboxes on the bigger engines ought to have a small oil cooler though.

Will be watching your build thread closely

Tony

Tony,

They have several trikes that have gone over the 1000 hour TBO and one logged at 1700 hours with these drives. No overheat issues noted to date. That was one of my questions.

They are similar in price to a belt drive. The castings are Russian, the machine work and gear installation is German (German transmission gears) and they are sold out of Canada.

I would call that a "international re-drive"
