Thumbs up Working on funding of a PRA project

PRA as tasked me to find funding for a possible new member benefit.

Does anyone know of any Aviation Grants that might be available to the general public or organizations promoting Aviation?

I've searched the net and only found one that we qualify for.

If I could get some help searching the web or if you know of an Aviation Grant could you please let me know.

Wolf Aviation is the only one that PRA is qualified to apply for so far and we need to apply for more to hedge our bets.

Thank you,
John

Hi Buddy!

I was really disappointed after researching the FAA for grants.

I had heard they give out many.

They do only not for for PRA mission.

They give grants to technology companies for the development of new products for aviation, anti terrorist devises, grants to municipal airports, etc.

They do provide scholarship to minority, women, etc. students!

But no funding for our projects from the FAA, bummer.

What is the new member benifit your looking at?
If it draws enough interest maybe it could be funded with donations.

Hi Mike...
Sorry, the BOD has asked me not to divulge the project.

I'm not sure why, I suspect they do not wish to announce projects until they become a reality, so folks are not disappointed if we do not succeed?

With the other charity BOD's we announced everything we were trying to do for the members even though the majority never succeed at least they know we are trying.

I've observed that announcing all we are trying provides hope and new members often join or make donations to make our common dreams come true.

Mike you and I do think alike, the 2nd stage of my funding plan is donations and then we will need to divulge everything as I believe this member benefit would attract aircraft products manufactures as well as some member donations to make it happen!

How much funding are you looking for if I might ask? $100-$1,000-$10,000.

Good question, Brent!

We are seeking at least $9,000.00.

$18,000.00 would double are joy but isn't necessary for PRA to participate in the project.

How can you ask for money and not be able to tell us what it is for?

Why can't there be transparency?

Is the PRA also contributing money to this PRA Project/Member benefit?

Hi Steve.

I do not know the exact reason why we do not announce suspect projects we are working on so anything I would offer as a reason would be speculation.

If elected to the BOD this term I will find out why.

However the 1st stage of funding is seeking grants and we're not asking for donations yet so really no harm other than folks thinking the PRA is doing nothing when we are actually working our bottoms off to provide new member benefits.

Don't feel bad Steve, I'm a director and I don't know what the "project" is.
I'm still wondering what happened to the gyro raffle at Mentone this year.
