Default Look What Followed Me Home..... Literally!!

I've been trying to decide how to get my Genesis back and forth to the airport, and have had my eye open for a trailer that would do the trick for over a year.

Finding one that is tall enough has been a challenge, so I had been looking at a custom build..... too much money, so I just kept looking.

So, as chance would have it, when I visited my dad on Father's Day, I drove by a farm and ranch store..... and one of the trailers on the lot towered above all of the others.

Long story short, I'm now the proud owner of a "new to me" used cargo trailer..... 16 feet long, 8 feet wide, and most importantly 8 foot 6 inches tall on the inside, with a door that is 98 inches tall.

My Genesis should fit perfectly, along with room for some tools and other stuff.

Big, tall ramp door....

Sticks up just a bit.... that's an 8 foot privacy fence!!

So that's one more thing off the list!

Thanks for the welcome to the trailer group.... I'm pretty excited, as I got a really good deal on this trailer.... way less than half of what a custom build was going to cost.

I figure I'll be going back and forth for a while, while I'm doing the taxi testing and such, but the ultimate goal is to get some hanger space at Propwash airpark, which is about 40 minutes from my house, and has LOTS of open space around it.

In the meantime, this trailer will double as a hanger so that I can free up my garage space again.

That thing's bigger than my first house.

Nice find, Gary.

You still need a roof air conditioning unit.

If you can, mount the airconditioner in the front, not the roof, it will last longer

I found a trailer maker just across the border in Alabama that will custom build a tall trailer to fit my 9ft tall Air Command Tandem, with a wedge front for just a couple hundred bucks more than a standard wall-height trailer. Brand-new, all-in, tandem axle for just under $5000. I jotted down a phone number on the side of a dually PU truck driving west on I-20 one day on my way home, called him the next day. Really nice feller, hope to do business with him soon, after all the other stuff in my life returns to "normal" (whatever the hell that is).

I like your purchase, this means you will be coming to all the fly-ins, RI_I_I_GHT?!?!?!

Greg,

I definitely will make some fly-ins in the future, but first I have to know how to fly!!
