Default popular mechanics cover

passing thru bradley airport i noticed a rotorcraft on the cover of PM. this machine was sweet. it was a single seat set up like the X-2, coax rotor with a pusher prop. i need to get a pic of it posted here for dreaming. anyone else get a look at it?

Popular Science and Popular Mechanics were my father's 'comics'. I read them avidly though my interests were more along. 'Grown your own Sea Monkey Colony' and 'Don't let anyone kick sand in your face, get a Charles Atlas course.'

Blow up airplanes and little personal helicopters gyrocopters were also interesting but probably at that time more up my Dad's street than mine.

That is an awesome look! I really like the 3-point gear too.
I wonder if it is finished and has flown…it would be yaw sensitive without a dorsal fin…

Don't get too excited, guys. The article is actually about a new helicopter engine. No gyros inside.

Seems like a machine like that would be more stable if it were more like the little RC copters they sell now instead of a propeller... at least then they could move backwards too.
