Hello Chris,
Jeff has helped me a lot and is a good friend. Believe him when he says he wants to help, he probably can. Thank you Ed, I know you prefer action so I kept the camera out as I turned base and final. The angles just happened to line up. I feel your pictures do a better job of telling the story. I look forward to seeing the pictures you take on our flight to Oceano Airport Day next Saturday. Tadeusz, I am glad to have you along and look forward to wandering around the lake bed with you some time during the Ken Brock Freedom Fly In. I appreciate what you do for the event and am proud to know you. Thank you Gilbert, I would love to inspire people to spread their gyroplane rotors a little further afield. I find joy beyond anything I imagined as I learn to deal with the myriad cross country challenges. I re-read what I wrote and realized that I did not capture the difference in the feeling of “that didn’t work out” or “I am in trouble now” compared to this flight when it seemed it was just a question of how to greet the challenge. I have many more tools in the tool box now than the first time I attempted this flight and failed over three years ago. For a look at what that was like have a look at this thread from 2008. http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/sho...t=18001&page=3 I felt emancipated as each challenge passed beneath us. I do struggle with overconfidence. Thank you, Vance
