I am not very knowledgeable on Ken Brock Gyros but if I had to guess I would have called it a KB1.

Perhaps there was a KB-1 that "didn't meet expectations," so we've never heard about it. You know, like WD-1 thru WD-39!

I am curious as to how the twin carbs on this machine are attached ? Is there an aftermarket manifold or has it been fabricated one off for this application? I am also interested in the cdi cost and availibility? I am slowly building a benson and I would like to incorperate the latest improvements. I have the rolling airframe and a mac engine with no carb, prop, rotorhead, rotor. I would like to fabricate my own stick, however I would like to get the rotorhead first so I will know the length of stroke required etc. I am interested if anyone can suggest an improved rotor head over the original benson design?

The KB1 was Ken's gyro that started out as a Bensen but was highly modified by Ken. Igor was upset with anyone making changes to to orginal Bensen and didn't want anyone calling a modified Bensen a Bensen Gyrocopter, hence the KB1.

To have 2 carb the Mac have to be higly modified. I only knew that bill parson was doing it. And it was a shop he had that Made it for him. As for building your own joystick and rotor head. unless you are a tool and die maker . I suggest you buy them at the end is cheaper and safer.

The Brock Rotor Head will fit the Bensen nicely. You might decide on Rotors and see what head is best for the Rotors you will use. It is all good stuff. Like Ford and Chevy, just different approaches to get the same results. You have to investigate and see what best suits your desires. Good Luck
