Scott,

Those guys are truely awesome to hit a moving target while moving in a helicopter with a single shot! You are always having to adjust your aim point...cool! Thanks for posting!!!!

Good shooting and good predator elimination. I saw a video where they were using a 12 gauge shot gun from a helicopter and I don't think the guy ever missed. In some areas the hogs have taken over so bad using a helicopter looks like a good way to go after them.

How hard would it be to get a used Huey, and install a door gun, You could charge by the hour, people would be lined up around the block.

It's kind of a shame there isn't some way to get all that free-range pork to hungry people somewhere.

That has been brought up before, here in Ga I have a friend that has been ridding some land of hogs. they cannot be donated as meat unless you are some kind of licensed butcher and go through heaps of Gov bureaucratic red tape. So the Gov has made it so difficult that it is cheaper to let the gov give people food stamps, and let the buzzards eat, rather than risk going to jail for competing with DC and their schemes.

I'm impressed at how fast they can run, I don't know the exact speed but I didn't think they could go like that.

It's astounding the damage they do !! Until & unless I do the vegetarian thing, (sorry, but THAT ain't gonna happen until the 'bad' folks need coats in the Afterlife) it could be argued that it is another situation caused by man, and now it's up to folks to deal with it as best one see's fit.

24 hours ago, I was washin' my hands outta a horse trough in N Tx., and I KNOW what is goin' on the barby tomorrow.

Good Lord Willin', there are amazing things just around the corner.

I truly am glad I don't have the problem here that the farmers & ranchers/stockmen have in the hog infested areas, (there are feral hogs in 40 States) but ask the right folks on the Land in 40 of these United States how they feel about the situation and you will get an earful !

Stan, how much kero do we need for your 'barby' thingy (Mentone 2012) ??

its a steyr aug. with the point and shoot (EoTech holo-sight) this means you do not need to shoulder the weapon to aquire a target.

Paul,

I thought a holo sight simply projected a red dot (or reticle) over the target while you are looking though a small window of the site. Don't you still need to shoulder the weapon to get your line of sight through the little window to see the reticle on the target?

Smile The tastiest pork you'll eat!

YUM-YUM! We just dined on the crock-potted haunch of one of these suckers--(the piggy not the gun!!!)
I'm not big on eating wild game - but this was VERY tasty - low fat, juicy & tender from slow cooking all day as we did inventory & planned the Aurora build kickoff!
Jim came back from Texas bearing "gifts" of fresh wild porkus & more Aurora parts! --- I can see why they pay $70/lb for this meat in Europe!!

Crying shame to have all that good meat going to waste at the end of a bullet! --- but the trappers can only get so many & the environmental impact from exploding piggy population is horrific!

For those who think this is cruel and not necessary talk to some farmers who are losing lots of $$$$ in damaged crops. The hogs also crap in the streams, ponds, etc and contaminate the water, which can contaminate the crops headed for market. They are also starting to attack pets and people (also children playing outside) in populated areas. In some places the meat can be donated to food kitchens, homeless shelters, etc. but like Scott said in a lot of cases there's too much red tape to allow that.
