thanks, earthbound
im looking to get started with a build and im taking my time looking at kits motors...so on and so forth.... ernie boyette at rfd gave me a tid bit on trying to save a little money on a rotax 582 buy looking at a rebuild and i have seen several posts on barnstormers by rotax rick and was just wondering about the quality of his work...none of this is inexpensive so i am treading lightly

I believe Jake has a 670 rotax on his latest build. Jake said he stands by his products.
I emailed Rick about the 670 and he was very helpfull. 670 with Ricks pipe runs out to 87 hp or with std 582 exhaust I believe 78-79 hp. Has same mounts as the 582. Hope you find what you want. Cheers, Mitch

Unless you want to spend the big bucks and buy band new, Rotax Rick is the way to go. Completely rebuilt and zero timed with a warranty that he stands behind, well worth the cost savings.

I do not know Rotax_Rick, nor have I ever met him.
I will say this....Re: his words in post #9 I respect a person who comes right out and will openly commit himself to a quality product delivered and proclaim a warranty he will stand behind..!! Very impressive..! <simply my 2 cents> M-M.

Glenn Kerr bought an engine from him a few months ago and it had a oil injection problem and it died at the Mentone convention this year. As sson as he got it home he took it off and shipped it back to Rick and it was promptly replaced under warranty with no hassles. I was very impressed and it does appear that he is a man of his word when it comes to standing behind his products. You can't expect more than that!
