Default New 670 rotax project

Well I guess it's time to bore you with my new gyro project.
Everything will still need to be detailed and painted.
I also use junk bolts to assemble the gyro ,then get AN hardware once it is complete.

Here are some pics, Oh yeah---my camera sucks !!

Jake, dig the 670, my dream engine. Like the tall tail, bout time you got on-board.
Like the Jake frame, proven good. Don't like the front stick pivot clamp bolts sandwiching fiberglass though. I know, there's a million of them flying that way.
Like your stick designs, but the linkages may TOO precise, shake reported.
Pod ain't me, but she ought to be a rocket.
Thought of you after I got stung repeatedly by a HUGE wasp last Sunday ripping through the woods on the SaintJohns river.

Thanks for the input Mike. Stick shake is not caused by a well built slop free controll system. Stick shake can be caused by two things that I know of.

1st. The set of rotors are out of wack or the rotor head needs looked at.
2nd. Resonence created by the mast and rotor.
A sloppy controll system just covers up your problem.

Juans, Jose, Grants and countless more were smooth as silk or at least burlap!! I've never had stick shake with Bensen,Rotor Hawks,Rotordyne,Skywheels and stansie rotor systems.I had Dragon Wings on Junk-N-stuff with my hub bar and head, Grant also had Dragon Wings with my head and controlls. They were also fairly smooth.
Ricks does have a shake, with a little work this could be made very acceptable.

This machine is getting a brand new set of Sport Rotors, should be here in a few weeks.

Thanks for the previews Jake.
I'm always extremely impressed by your fine work...I learn a lot watching your builds progress.
I hope to attain nearly as high a level of quality someday...but I do realize that "practice" makes perfect.

Nice Jake, I hope I can retire some day and goof off all the time....
You are my hero!
But I am sure it will be sold before I get to see it..

I like the looks of the stabilized nose wheel set up.
Appears 'beefy' and supportive. Nice!

@ Mike H. yeah man those things with stingers ain't no fun!! I went and got desensitized after the bees tried to kill me at B-Days a few years back. If I get stung now there is very little reaction.

@ Mike M. My pleasure Mike and thank you for the kind words.

@ Scott E. Don't be in a hurry to do nothing life is to short. It's already sold but should be at B-Days.

@Mark T. The front end works well, has a hydraulic two stage shock and shimmy gaurd you can also hit a parking curb and not break it. Thank you.

@Brent B. 68" warp three blade with the Lhp hub. That should push it pretty good.
Plans are hard because each plane I build has different dementions. Different keel hights, longer or shorter front ends, longer or shorter front keels. Depends on engine, fuel capasity, prop, pod or no pod. The only way to make a TRUE center line thrust is to account for all the variables and do a double hang test to be sure.

@ Mark C. The hp at 7000 is suppose to be 100 I've seen other specs say 116 @8500.
We will turn this at 7000 with the 582 exaust system and 582 heads for duel ign. The RAVE valve has been set on a dyno at 77 hp @ 6500 rpm. We should see close to 80hp.at 7000.I'm running 3:1 gears. The engine was designed to run 13,000. so it should have a good life span. The engine comes built like this with a two year warranty and a zero hour log. Glad you got the mill, now I can put you to work !!!

Thanks Harold-- Toby I'll pass your request on to the new owner .

Yes it is Kirks new ride. He was planning on building a Dom And got all this stuff. Realized there was actually more to it than a couple o bags, a good drill motor and a six pack !! I'm impressed, he comes from louisiana and gets some real hands on building this beast. It's built to fit him. I won't be able to fly it, can't reach the rudder pedals.
