I don't have a calender for 2005 yet. When is Easter? that is what we don't need is for Bensen days to fall on the week of Easter. Otherwise I am all for having it the same week as Sun n Fun. All the gyro vendors can stay at Wauchula and have a small booth at Lakeland telling the public to come to Wauchaula for demo rides and to see us crazies flying our stuff.

I like it the week before, so I can see both. I walk and listen too slow to make either one a visit. I think that both events are wonderfull and need time to enjoy them. Ron, I don't think that what you describe is practical for the vendors. I can't do two trade shows for the software company at the same time and I have less stuff. I have a feeling that the proffit is low in gyros and profit is what allows someone to do things bigger. I would think it would be bad for the sport if the vendors did a less good job at Sun n Fun. Thank you, Vance

I like the idea of having Bensen Days at the same time as Sun 'n Fun, as many people can not take off two weeks to see both and have to choose which one to attend.

I walk faster than Vance, so I can enjoy Sun 'n Fun in one or two days tops. I could see Sun 'n Fun during the week and fly at Bensen Days on the week end! Otherwise I'd just skip Sun 'n Fun.

Ken is right, I walked the fly in at New Braunfels with him and he walks faster and thinks faster. It was nice of him not to mention the thinking part. I can't imagine mising a single day of Bensen Days. I learned so much and had such a good time. Thank you, Vance

I'm for having it the same week. LIke someone else said it is difficult for a lot of people to get off two weeks to see both events!

It would be nice to hit both shows at the same time.

Thanks Ray and Todd.

Ron Easter is March 27,2005 so no danger of interferring this year.

Richard and Davie like the idea of all being able to attend both shows.

Last year the only one flying as far a vendors at Sun/Fun was Mike Solano and Larry Neil.
RAF had a booth but flew out of another airport.

We welcome views from Vendors and Guest so please post them. We want to Hear from all of You. Now is your chance, once we set the dates and ask for the City Of Wauchula to grant us those dates it will be set in stone. MJ

I have not ever been to Sun n fun. I would only want to go there for a day at the most. Just to say I have been there. If I have to choose between Bensen Days and Sun n Fun, I like most of us willl choose Bensen days.

If the fly in is not held on the same week, and the week before is not easter week, then I would guess that we would have a good attendance and to expect a typical Bensen days fly in.

If the fly in is held on the same week, I think things would be somewhat different. I think if the word is out at Sun n Fun that our fly in is going on, we will have at least Some people show up for a look that otherwise would not have come. I also think that some Vendors might not set up at Wauchula, In other words, will RAF or Sparrowhawk set up at both places? Will Aircommand or Larry neal be there? Who knows. I also think that some of the people that come to Bensen Days and then like to go on for another week to Sun n Fun will be put in a pickle.

Personally I look forward to hearing what others think. I do think it will be cool to finally be able to do both fly ins in the one week. It would be cool to get a gaggle of gyros to do a cross country flight into Sun n Fun too.

But I can easily miss out on Sun n Fun if holding Bensen Days on the same week takes away from Bensen Days in a sizeable way.

Ron, Thanks for pointing that out. AAI was also at Sun/Fun did not mean to leave them out.
Also Maxie represent AirCommand now so they show at BD Days but not at Sun/Fun.
Mike Solano and Dad showed at Sun/Fun to instruct and show. Till the engine out!

Thumbs up

My vote would be to hold Bensen Days the week before Sun N Fun. That way everybody is happy. Those that want to do both can. Those that only want to go to BD can. By having BDs first we will spend most of our money with gyro vendors at BD! They need the help and our support. Having the event not conflict with Easter will probably increase attendance significantly.

Another vote for same week. Like Ken mentioned, most of us working slobs can't take 2 whole weeks just to make 2 airshows. Besides, you don't have to stay at either event for a whole week. Couple days at one, couple days at the other if ya want.

While I can see the benefit of having Bensen Days on the same week as S&F for attendees, it will work a hardship on the vendors. And if they have to make a choice on which one they attend, guess which one it will be!

While what Ron has suggested would be ideal, I doubt if the vendors care to attend both events at the same time.

It looks like the vote is going heavily in the direction of having BD on the same week as S&F but I prefer to have it on a different week.

Any thought or problem in having it the week after S&F? That way the gyro vendors could advertise BD at S&F and possibly boost the attendance for those that get the gyro bug while there.
