It is true the Enigma is a little pricey, but considering all the features, you only need to add a radio and possibly a transponder. There is a Dominator Two that will have an Enigma system installed this winter when David finally decides it is too cold to fly here.

How does someone have a gyro kit shipped to someones house to be built, then not do a thing to it for over a year?

Default Some of us have cash flow interruptions Ron.

John has a lot of people who owe him money and some of them are a little slow in paying.

Mariah Gale has been stalled for almost a year now for a cash flow interruption.

As I get older I am less inclined to borrow money to finish toys.

Thank you, Vance

Isn't John the USA rep for that kit? I would think they would have required him to have at least a finished machine for demostration purposes.

I know how it is to have slow payers.... its amazing how they can find a way to pay for their power, and cell phones and all the other monthly expenses, but somehow the guy who mows their lawn every week can just wait three or four months for his pay!

True Chris..... very true. Just from the way it sounds based on what Stan had said, is sounded as if the gyro kit was abandoned.

Great news Stan you are back to having parts. I have a 582 in my shop, it should be in your shop this week. John said he is calling CPS on Monday and find out what the Extreme mini needs for a 582 and that should be in your shop soon after. This is a good way to start the new year.

Default finally.....some movement

Finally....some more progress as I worked 3 hours on the Genesis last night. I had not worked on it since January 26th...of 2012!!

John had some clients with funding interruptions to him, but it looks like some of that is resolved....as a new Stratomaster, Garmin GPS, and VCC arrived last week. The engine is being configured for its e-box and will be enroute to my shop soon.

I just gave up pushing on this project, and then just decided I wanted it done as much as I have time for by this summer....then it will be out of my shop.

John and I changed the logistics of this build. I am going to assemble it unpainted or powder coated, then he will disassemble it all and do that part.

My peak time for free hours to work on this ends the first of April. Most of this winter is gone....and I will be challenged to find a whole lot of free time by summer. I am going to try to have it together and running....assuming the parts keep coming in.

I was making some noise last fall about not wanting to miss the whole winter build time as thats when I have always done most of my building. It was out of my hands, and out of Johns hands as well. I wasnt frustrated with John at all....but was starting to get an attitude about the situation.

I built my whole SparrowHawk from September 16th to Feb 16th....6 months to the day.....had I started on it at this date....it wouldnt have had much done on it April thru September.

But...at a slow as I find time pace....I will keep plugging away on it. Right now I am replacing the small assembly bolts with the permanent 1/4 inch bolts.

For those following....thanks for your patience.

Stan

So you assemble first with AN3, or maybe hardware store 3/16? I never heard about doing that b4. What's the purpose? Did the Genesis guy make his own pod mold and do the 'glass work in his own shop, or is that done by a vendor he uses? Are you going to be a co-vendor with John on this line of gyros? How many hours have got into this build? As you know, I wasn't paying attention at all to this thread until just very recently, too busy to read into it in depth. Too bad we wont' see it at Bensen Days. I am guessing you and John are now shooting for showing it off at Mentone? Isn't that an active suspension? What kind of travel does that have? Who's going to certificate it? Who's going to test fly it? Are we there yet? I gotta go potty...

I really should go back and read this thread completely.

Greg- Most of your answers are buried in the thread. I feel since I have not flown a gyro since 2007, and have developed different helicopter reactions, it would not be a good aviation decision for me to fly it. I turn down offers to fly other gyros at Bensen Days and Mentone. So, no, I will not be flying it.

I'm Glad to hear the project is back on track Stan!! There are far too many aviation projects that fizzle out, often leaving promising ideas in their wake. I am especially eager to see at least one flying Genesis in the United States this year. I was an enthusiastic supporter of the original when it first appeared... in 2008, almost 5 years ago. http://www.rotaryforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17032

Stan
Thank you buddy for your patience.
Yippee it finally fully funded and PRA31 G2sa too!!!

I was suppose to pick up the 582 blue head with E-Box on Saturday however, the mechanic postponed it for today and I'm waiting for the call to go get it to ship it to you any minuet now, I hope!

Nicolas is ordering the Blades from Ernie and a Warp drive prop for me today so they should be shipped this week if in stock.

You should now have the entire glass panel except for the 6-day clock if you have received the fuel totalizer sensor that was shipped a week later.

I only need to find and aux electric fuel pump, a radiator, expansion chamber, hoses, etc. and some miscellaneous parts.

Brother I'm sorry it took so long to get paid.
The good news is that now that it is funded and I'm stilled owed a small fortune and they are at least making monthly payments now so my cash flow is pretty good for the year or so.

Thank you brother, there is no stopping us now!!!

PS:
If you get a chance could you shoot a picture of the GPS, XTreme and its sensors? I bought this sight unseen and only seen the main display.

Hi Greg.
Yes I believe Nicolas told me the purpose it to assure the best fit.
Once fully assembled you drill out the hole to full size and replace them with the correct bolts.

The pod is from Nicolas not sure if he molds them himself or outsources it.

No co-vendor I’m not a vendor or dealer either. Any funds I hold for the customer are only held in escrow so no sales tax applies in any state even mine because it is purchase out of country and I’m not a dealer.

I'm actually the US Agent for Nicolas and my main purpose is customer support: We remove all the hassle out of acquiring your next dream machine. We handle importation, customs, brokers, logistics, builder assistants and technical support. Everything is done to provide you with a worry- free quick delivery anywhere in the USA. Your Genesis Kit will be shipped directly to your front door.

Stan will have to answer that I could divide the total paid by the labor rate but hopefully Stan knows.

Well maybe there will be a Bensen Days miracle she won’t be painted but might be there. I hope to fly her with Desmond from Texas to Osh Gosh and then Mentone with him in his new ride.

YAW MON, it's a triangulated 4130 steel landing gear with active suspension. Its an option Nicolas offers that I needed because I will be landing and taking off from roads etc.
I’ve forgotten the travel, oops. We’ll soon see in person.
