Default Sport Copter Super Vortex finished!

Hi everyone,

After camping out at the Sport Copter factory the better part of 5 months,
I've finally finished!

I'd like to thank the entire Sport Copter team who, despite being insanely busy, took the time to help me complete this 5 year project.

Thanks especially to Evan for his patience in engineering on-the-spot
solutions for the oil and water systems (which weren't in the manual). Despite his heavy workload it was Evan who gave me a time slot to come finish my gyro.

Thanks to Jon, multi skilled creator of my one off, killer carbon fiber instrument pod. Jon also built me a set of cool tapered blades, and painted the inside and outside of my pod to perfection.

And of course, thanks to Jim Vanek, eternal visionary, for keeping me on track. Jim
squeezed time into several lessons that left me full of excitement and raring to finish my license.

Default Congratulations Steven!

I know there were times when you thought she would never be done.

I look forward to reading about your flying adventures.

How long have you been working on her?

How does she fly?

Thank you, Vance

So thats what you've been up to.

When are you bringing your gyro down under.

A few more pictures...and thanks for the the nice comments!

Vance, you are right. I have read somewhere that in aviation there are either builders or pilots. I discovered I am not a builder. Even though it turned out well the process was painful.

If you are wondering how it flies, there is a video on the Sport Copter website that shows the Super Vortex climbing out after a very short takeoff.

If I were to describe Stevens gyro in one word it would be: PRISTINE!!!

While Steven was here I had a chance to get to know him. He is one of the most sincere people I have ever met. I would trust him with a secret. He's a great friend to have by any measure.

Steven - If Jon doesn't mind, can you tell us a bit more about your cool tapered blades and how they perform?

Thumbs up

Looks to be an award-gatherer...

If you fly it, Steven, you'll get it dirty and ruin all that shiny look!

Now that is one sweet looking Gyro yeah I would like to hear how you like the tapered blades, I remember the posts of when they where being first designed and tested. but I think you are the first to post about having some on a Gyro out side of the company.
how about some pics of the blades on the machine.

I think I saw the video of the super vortex,it was a very impressive video.
