Sometimes I wonder . . .
Half of the country is against it, the rest of the world too . . .
And some people still don't know how to count!
The Radicals of America are fighting the radicals of Middle East and all the rest of the world is watching is disbelief. I think both sides should be grounded . . .bad boys!!!
Poor Jesus . . .died for nothing according to these groups policy . . .
Ah . . .just for tought: Three famous blackmen in history Jesus, MOhamed Ali and Pele, good company dont you think? They are in the top of this reseach done some time ago.
Guess Ali did not like much the good intentions of his leaders and changed his name and religion.
Is this thread ever going to end?

Heron,

I don't know what drugs you're takin' but they're probably illegal...(With that kind of thought process I hope you don't actually fly - other than in your mind).
Did you vote? There's a saying - if ya don't vote then don't bitch.
As far as the rest of the worlds opinion it's strange why we have the illegal immigration problem if it's so bad here.
Why don't you try living in Saudi Arabia or Yemen or pretty much any place in Africa and then tell me how bad it is here.
You need to get a job, all the idleness is turning your brain to mush :-)

Default The election,.. nucular, spectacular, regular

This is our country. We made our choice using our rules. All you surrender-monkeys around the world (France, Canada, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Spain, etc.), listen up: In the words of Dick Cheney "Go f**k yourselves."

On another subject -- It used to bug me a lot when I would hear nuculer, or relitter, or fisical, or preventative, or,.. or,..

Yes, there are better and "worser" ways to pronounce many words, but this is a dynamic language. One of the realities is that if a word or a meaning or a pronunciation gets used a lot, and for long enough, it ends up in the dictionary. See if irregardless is in the dictionary.

The latest dictionaries show "noo-kyoo-ler" as an acceptable pronunciation. Their explanations suggest that this pronunciation has been in greater and greater use since Eisenhower made it common in the fifties.

I don't like to hear nuclear mispronounced either, but that annoying pronunciation has been prevalent enough for so many years, it is "acceptable." That IS the way it works. Deal with it.

One thing I find difficult to deal with, though, is apostrophes used for plural. An apostrophe in front of an "s" is supposed to show a possessive situation, not plural. I'll bet half of the folks here don't even know what I am talking about. Next time you see any apostrophes used in "gyro's or lot's or rotor's" I'll bet you a burger that the author means more than one gyro, for example, and not something belonging to the gyro. It is a nationwide problem that is becoming so blatantly common I fear it will show up in the dictionary's (haha) as acceptable.

Sorry for the rant.

Only the ones who think that the idea of government is to re-distribute wealth. You can have them. Gladly

Good choice of colors, Andre.

I live in California and we are moving to the right here. We have a lot of people on the Goverment Tit here and I would be pleased if they left. We also have a lot of second generation rich and they tend to feel that people without money are that way because of luck. It usualy doesn't take them long to run out of money when the parents are gone, so the luck theory works for them not to take responsibility.

The news papers in L.A. and San Francisco are propaganda machines for the left.

One of my best friends lives in Ottawa and has worked for the goverment his whole life, as did his father and brother. He gets a lot of vacation but he prefers my lifestyle. He has a PHD and his wife also works. He has to be very carefull with money. I love to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean that they must be wrong and stupid. A change of attitude would be nice. Thank you, Vance

Andre,

You said, “There are people who, even with the eyes opened, do not see anything...better have the mind open!”

And how open is your mind? You seem to advocate that the U.S. move more toward the socialist model of Europe and Canada, and reject the faith based values of our heartland for the existentialist beliefs of the morally bankrupt. With an open mind the people of the U.S. looked at the various socio-political systems, and said “Why should we follow these failed policies?”

Andre, can you name one country that has tried socialism for more than 50 years that has the strength of economy, the individual freedom, and the distribution of wealth available in the U.S.? Sure our distribution of wealth is not perfect, but a higher percentage of people in the U.S. own their homes than anywhere else in the world. A recent report revealed that in Sweden, the old model of the marvels of socialism, more than 45% of the populace lives below what would be classified as the poverty line in the U.S. Isn’t this wondrous? Canada is following Sweden. This week, the U.S affirmed its determination to reject these failed policies. Ask yourself, Why is the U.S. economy the envy of the world? Why can’t the “enlightened” economies of Europe compete, and why are their unemployment rates more than double that of the U.S.?

Andre, if your mind is so open, why do you seem to have so little tolerance for people of faith? It is the basis of faith and our tolerance for others with different views that have made the U.S. the beacon of freedom for the world. Certainly, our process of debate and elections can look ugly to an outsider, but everyone has the right to express their viewpoint. It is the strong moral compass of the heartland that keeps this country from falling into the immoral morass that is sucking in much of the rest of the world. History has shown that every great civilization crumbled from within as the people became complacent and allowed their basic morality to deteriorate. This week the U.S. expressed its determination to uphold its moral values. Are you intimidated by that?

Can take the horse to water . . .can't make the horse drink . . .
Unbelievable ignorance!
You are so good when attacking, maybe that's why you don't know how to defend.
Look at the path taken and where it is going to end.
You are the bomb men, one day you will pull the wrong cord and we all go to heaven together, Gosh . . .I will laugh . . .
Learn another language and watch the news in a different channel!
Or not . . . maybe you did enough and don't have to botter anymore.

Default Ignorance????

Heron,

Ignorance? This coming from you who IGNORE the reality of evil in the world for the fantasy of Rodney King (can’t we just all get along).

Heron, I’m sure you would have preferred to negotiate with Hitler or Stalin, as you do with the Islamo-facists. Then, instead of living in freedom in the U.S., you could have lived under the boot of tyranny speaking either German or Russian. It is us “bomb men” who understand the reality that evil only responds to force that have kept you from that fate.

Thank You, Harry. That is a very nice compliment. I have great frustration with my inability to express my feelings. I can feel them on the inside, with all their color and pagentry, but when I read my words I don't feel the passion, they seem flat and colorless. I am glad that you are a better reader and can hear and see what I am trying to say. I see that Heron can not.

I always enjoy your posts. I can see that you are very thoughtfull. I learn much from your style of inquires and you describe the results of your search well. Thank you, Vance

Default Time will tell???

Andre,

You said that "time will tell." Time has already told us that socialism is a failure, and capitalism, although not perfect, is the best economic system for securing the political and economic freedoms of the governed. "Those who refuse to learn from history are condemned to relive it."
