Dave Bacon is the PRA Chapter Coordinator so he should be able to provide you with a starter packet. He visits the Forum so he should be contacting you!

Mark,

Paul Plack is the Regional Rep. that is over CO. You should get to know him ASAP as he will be a great asset to you. As has already been said Dave Bacon is the Chapter Coordinator and should be your contact to get information on starting a new chapter.

As the driving force behind establishing the Utah Rotorcraft Association (chapter 2) I have some experience in that area and would be happy to talk to you about how it worked for our chapter. We would love to see another chapter in the West and I know you have several Gyros flying right now (a lot more than we did to start with) so it should be very doable. Please let me know how I can help.

Thank You Doug

We have 5 Gyros just in Colorado Springs, plus all the Denver area folks. Trouble is finding 5 that are PRA members. Working on it...

That might be less trouble in a couple weeks. PRA membership will be a more obvious value when details of some new programs are in place.

We now have the required 5+ members.

We had a discussion today at Centennial Airport.

We are just waiting for the packet or some information from the PRA. < <

The name is under discussion, something like Rocky Mountain Rotorwing or Rocky Mountain Rotorcraft Association. Or CRA, Colorado Rotorcraft Association.

Other suggestions include
Colorado Copters
Colorado Gyronauts
RotorWingers
and some I have forgotten (it happens.)

In this digital age, we have discussed the possibility of having chapter business meetings electronically on chat or Go to meeting.

We want to keep formalities, dues, and paperwork to a minimum, and fun to a maximum.

Our goal is to have multiple chapter flying activites -fly- in, get togethers in our area in the warmer months.

Original discussion of fly-in locations was Non towered Front Range Airports- No more than 100 miles from Colorado Springs or Front Range Airport.

We will welcome members from anywhere in Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas or Wyoming, but our primary area is the Front Range Metro Area from Fort Collins to Pueblo Colorado.

If you are interested in joining, contact me at Mark@MeadowLakeAirport.com .

The above photo was taken by Todd..aka Racer here on the forum this morning when he and Mark Shook flew up from Colo. Spgs. (Meadowlake) to Denver's (Centennial) airport.
Pictured from left are Mark Treidel, Dick Goddard & Mark Shook. Had a nice leisurly breakfast with each other discussing numerous topics of interest including restarting a new Colo. chapter. Thanks for making the trip up guys........

Thanks Mark

I received another name suggestion.

Mark,

Centennial? Isn't that at, like, 5,900' MSL?

You should name it "The Mile High Club." Your slogan could be:

"C'mon. Admit It. You've Always Wanted to Join!"

Default New Chapter

I would join, even though I have nothing to fly I am anxious to get started building something and learning from the pilots in the Front Range area. I have sooooo much to learn.
