Kristofferson was not a decorated Vietnam vet, he served in the 8th infantry in Germany.

me...jeez, when was that? Seems like the same era as the original Johnny Quest, and also that other Saturday morning show "Supercar"

"Under the sea, or in the air, it can travel anywhere...SUPERCAR!"

Am I right?

And talk about low-tech special effects, it was marionette string puppets in a model of a Ford Thunderbird, jazzed up a bit. No kid would sit around and watch that for 30 minutes today!

Hey, did anyone else but me get the same gut feelings of flying our gyros around when you went to watch "Avatar" in 3-D???

I confess. I watched both Skyler King, and PT and Chuck, The Whirleybirds. http://www.newwhirlybirds.com/Whirly...al%20Pics.html

I loved the Sky King series...and SuperCar..and Johnny Quest...and pretty much anything in space or relating to aviation as a kid...and I never stopped being a kid in that respect.

Sea Hunt, Whirlybirds, Ripcord, Cisco and Pancho, Lone Ranger. Yup in 1954 on my first visit to the UK I was totaly taken by 'the box'.

We didn't get it in Kenya until around 62 or 63 and then only in Nairobi. I lived up country so missed out.

I feel that I missed out, I didn't watch much TV, --- still don't.
Too much time building model airplanes as a kid, must have been the fumes from the glue or the balsa wood dust......

I had forgotten Fireball 5 in SUPERMARIONATION ie puppets.

My favorite was PT and Chuck (AKA the Whirlybirds). I can remember sitting on my Dads lap and watching it together with him circa 1958-59.

I think my love for Rotorcraft was born right there on that couch in front of the old Packard/Bell B/W TV.

Fireball XL5, Stingray, Space 1999, UFO, I have almost all of Gerry Anderson's shows. Plus about 3/4 of Whirlybirds episodes.
