has anyone used the Garmin colormap streetpilot III gps in their aircraft?
reason I ask, is I just picked one up on craigslist for $5.00 it powers up, but is missing the data card and Data cable. it did come with a mount, car power cable, external antenna and an map CD. I am hoping I can install it in the Commuter H-1B.

I had one for a while in my car. Tried it in the air but didn't like it. Found it awkward to use since you have to take it out of "street mode".
A problem you might have is saving your waypoints since you don't have the data card. The standard data card that came with mine was 128 meg. Not very large. It could only hold data for about 3 states. But for 5 bucks give it a try.
